Religions have been around since the beginning of time and more only arose. I read online that 2.5 Christian denominations get formed each day! Will this religious growth ever stop and why have they existed so long? Will people just want more and more various religions?

Will this religious growth ever stop and why have they existed so long? Will people just want more and more various religions? I don’t think the growth will stop. People keep wanting to put their own ideas and interpretations into Christianity, for example, to make themselves more comfortable and give themselves a sense of pride. Old religions will die off and new ones will come about with essentially the same beliefs, but under a different name; there is no new thing under the sun.

Not all old religions will die off like Chrsitianity. Judaism probably won't die off either and will wait for a Mesaiah. Unless you are considering Christianity a new religion or something Shrug

There are many ways to fall away from the truth. But the truth is it is one for all.

I am just hoping for a technocratic religion of the future where we worship the Singularity, I will finally get that right cybernetic arm I always dreamed of.

Unless you are considering Christianity a new religion or something Shrug No, Christianity isn’t a new religion; there will be a falling away as the prophecy says. I don’t think even Judaism is the same as it used to be; many modern Jews don’t take the Torah literally, they view it as metaphor, and hardly any actually observe the laws.. even back during the time of Christ there were different sects of Judaism. I think my point some religions will continue on under the same name as the old, like Judaism and Christianity, but won’t be the same as the original. And then there will be other religions that will die off, like ancient pagan religions, but resurface under different names but essentially are the same thing.
