I was reading an interesting article on bbc about the possibility of time travel. What do people think about this? I would state that time travel is impossible, and a baby concept of a larger ideal. I would say that time = quantified experience, which is different. The basis being that at one point we accept the universe is created, and what you have to remember is we are confined to certain proportions (eg. the realisation of the universe through trichromatic vision).... so by no definition did that process create our human reality, we define our understanding of our own reality. What was created that wasn't before - because there was always "something" there (nothing by definition cannot exist) - was experience, and time is objectively the measurement of the duration of human experience. So time travel is a pretty ridiculous concept in my opinion as time its self is just a concept and there can be no travelling upon it - the definition of descriptions has been lost to these people. However theoretically if time travel were possible, and we were to face the age old continuum problem. "If we went back in time and killed Hitler what would happen, who would exist". We can definitively guess that logically - we would access an alternate reality. And the universe has been proven to be multi-dimensional - as in layered - in its way. So time would not have been changed objectively, but proportionately the physical representation of things would differ in the greater translation of understanding the universe. The act of going back in time would likely be tapping in to the greater universe. Using the 90% of it which is dark matter. Or by another translation, the shadow of the movement of the constellations where there is the newton opposite of being.

Nope, we can't time travel. Unless in our dreams. Shrug

If time travel was real, we would already know about it. History would be constantly changing. History would have taken a very one sided turn at some point if the person with the time machine decided change history.

This is a pic of a man that is debated to be a time traveler. Considering his contemporary clothing, he's either a really hip fashionable guy for his time or quite possibly a time traveler, who knows ? [This photograph was taken in 1941 of The Time Travelling Hipster, as he is often known. It was taken at the South Forks Bridge in Gold Bridge, British Columbia, Canada. However, you cannot deny that his clothing looks a lot different from those around him. Look at those modern sunglasses and cool t-shirt.] thelistlove.com/10-time-travel-conspiracies-youre-scared-to-believe

There wouldn't really be a past even if time travel would keep changing it, I think.

History would have taken a very one sided turn at some point if the person with the time machine decided change history. But this is what I'm arguing here. We can not change time. Time is only a thing to humans, same with History - these are definitions we use to describe- and often the power of language makes us believe they are more real. If you went ''back in time" and by that i mean - manipulated the current quantification of universal experience on the whole - to go back the way in time. Any changes in your reality become an alternate reality - not a change of time. For to get there and perform that act - the plane where you started would always need to exist in an isolated manner. Existence will always be sustained in some form it can never be eliminated.

A quick search on wikipedia for time travellers documents this. It says: Further research suggested that the present day appearance of the man may not have been so new. The style of sunglasses first appeared in the 1920s. On first glance the man is taken by many to be wearing a printed T-shirt, but on closer inspection it seems to be a sweater with a sewn-on emblem, the kind of clothing often worn by sports teams of the period. The shirt is very similar to the one that was used by the Montreal Maroons, an ice hockey team from that era. The remainder of his clothing would appear to have been available at the time, though his clothes are far more casual than those worn by the other individuals in the photograph.[6]
Debate centres on whether the image genuinely shows a time traveller, has been photomanipulated, or is simply being mistaken as anachronistic.[6] The "Time Traveling Hipster" became a case study in viral Internet phenomena in museums which was presented at the Museums and the Web 2011 conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[7]
However I think it's oddly worth noting that despite this survey, no definitive answer was recorded.

However I think it's oddly worth noting that despite this survey, no definitive answer was recorded. While some claim the sunglasses and the shirt make this an affirmation of his modern appearance, i feel they are what give it away as to the man being from that period. The stylized side lenses are notoriously from that period which are sometimes replicated today, but the design/fashion originating from that era, not our current day. Also, the knitted shirt with emblem being the fashion of most sports teams of that era. It's fun to look at seeing the re-occuring similar trends of style that exist in our present day. Unless he is a time traveler,

It should be scientifically impossible to be able to travel back in time. In order to go back in time, you will have to get faster than the speed of light. Which wouldn't all that bad, until you learn that light has no mass. As we have mass, time travel is impossible for us.
