....why? I don't see why an actual movie is needed. Your thoughts?
"Not surprisingly, Hollywood is already jumping on this, wanting to pay tribute to the incredible rescue. In fact, a production crew arrived on the scene on the third day of the mission, as previously reported by Inquisitr. They wanted to interview the Thai Navy SEALS, the soccer players, coach, families, as well as other foreign rescuers.
“The CEO and co-founder of Pure Flix, Michael Scott, has a Thai wife and lives in Thailand part-time. His company is known for producing Christian-based movies, including God’s Not Dead. However, Scott says that ‘It’s not necessary to make this a Christian film, just an inspirational one,'” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Scott’s hoping to make it a major motion picture, complete with A-list stars. He already has lined up a co-producer for the flick in Adam Smith from Kaos Entertainment. The proposed budget is said to be around $30 to $60 million, with production expected to start sometime in 2019."

The reason is rectangular and green. Any tragedy can be a cash cow if you can tug on the right heartstrings. Hollywood has no qualms about capitalising on this in order to line their own pockets.
