Throughout human history there have been many rulers with absolute power over his realm, some have used it for good others for their own sake. Nowadays we mostly view absolute rulers as dictators and tyrants even if there have been several who used it for good, so i wanted to ask which ruler do you think did the most good with his power?

Suleiman I of the Ottoman Empire I guess is my current pick. At the helm of an expanding empire, Suleiman personally instituted major legislative changes relating to society, education, taxation and criminal law. Think they called him Magnificent

My pick would also be Turkish but he founded the modern nation state of Turkey, it would be Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He held near dictatorial during he tenure as President of Turkey from 1923 to 1938. He put Turkey on the map by modernizing and secularizing the Turkish government.

Think they called him Magnificent Interesting choice! Especially if you take into account the fact that his beloved wife (the sultan had a harem) was from your region of Ukraine! She is known as Roksolana. Real name Anastasiya Lisovskaya! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurrem_Sultan

I like "five good emperors" (Nerva, Trayan, Adrian, Antonin Piy, Mark Aurelius) and Emperor Augustus, despite him being consolidator of power, he still a cunning ruler and make Roman Civilization stronger and more advanced.

I don’t believe in democracy. I believe it allows you to move out of the house before the roof is even built. I believe it allows the public to elect people who won’t do the best for them, because people are easily manipulated, confused, and brainwashed. Especially with females voting you have feminine vs masculine politics facing each other, you have indenty politics. Democracy will never put forth the answers and solutions for long enough in order to make traditionalist values or Nationalist values a long lasting environment for a country. Democracy is the system that has failed France, The Neatherlands, England, and many others nations. If we put Louis XIV in charge of France in modern times The would be thriving beyond belief. If we put Augustus of Rome in charge of Italy I would say the same. Gustav II in charge of Sweden, Queen Victoria in charge of England, Cyrus In charge of Iran, Pedro III in charge of Brazil, and so on.
Democracy is a charming form of government full of variety and disorder. It dispenses equality to equals and unequal alike. We know not everyone is equally equipped when it comes to political ideology and economic understanding. Democracy is a false idol, a catchword, and illusion of inferior classes, visionaries, and dying civilizations.

I think that any form of government has signs similar to a hidden dictatorship! If she says that she is democratic and that your opinion is important to her, then this is just hypocrisy!

Pure democracy has always ended in turmoil. In ancient times it always led to the slaughter and destruction of the economic hierarchy. Mob rule is never a good outcome. Scenario one your candidate wins and the state imposes your views on others. Scenrio two the opposing candidate wins and the state enforces the enemies views on you. Democracy works as long as you can trust your neighbor to vote in the best interest of both of you.

The same was in ancient Novgorod (Russia). For a long time, local democrats did not know what to do. Finally Tsarist Moscow annexation them!

Ashoka the Great (304 b.c. - 232 b.c.) who ruled the Indian empire inherited from his grandfather Chandragupta Maurya.
After witnessing the carnage caused by his battle against Kalinga , he renounced war, adopted buddhism and used his military only for defensive purposes. He was instrumental in spreading Buddhism all over the world through buddhist missionaries and making it a world religion.
He channeled his energies into administrative measures devoted for the people's welfare. along with animals. He became a vegetarian, banned royal hunting and animal slaughter on certain time periods, and the indiscriminate killing of certain animals and birds such as those that were nursing the young and the young upto the age of six months. He also established veterinary clinics for animals and birds.
Napoleon Bonaparte for consolidating the French Revolution and its ideals, when all the monarchs in Europe were united against France in crushing the revolution . His code of laws ( Napoleonic Code) has influenced over 70 nations of the world.
British historian Andrew Roberts stated: "The ideas that underpin our modern world—meritocracy, equality before the law, property rights, religious toleration, modern secular education, sound finances, and so on—were championed, consolidated, codified and geographically extended by Napoleon. To them he added a rational and efficient local administration, an end to rural banditry, the encouragement of science and the arts, the abolition of feudalism and the greatest codification of laws since the fall of the Roman Empire"
