Not sure if this is relevant, but sometimes I change the way I write, online and on paper Sometimes to make people think differently of me, or maybe if the person I'm talking to has perfect grammar I'll double check for spelling mistakes
anyone else do this??

When I write for other people I change how I write certain letters, otherwise they'll probably confuse i/j/l because the only difference is where they are on the line for me xD
I write them all as vertical lines!

the way you choose your vocab and linguistic structures is largely determined by the context. for example the language of religion and that of law are very formal usually using archaic words, but in the normal social communication language style differs with the nature of the relationship between the addressed and the addressee.

If it's not on paper then I write 2 ways. If it's in an educational setting or important place then I try to write like a genius with perfect spelling, grammar, and details. If it's with friends online or whatever then it's how it comes out. When on paper I try to mostly make my writing as pretty as possible when I...still...write

I'm definitely a believer in practical code-switching. It just seems necessary, rather than disingenuous or manipulative like some people might think.

My handwriting looks different all the time. I struggle to keep it all the same. When I was with my students, I had to change the ways I wrote certain letters. Otherwise, my students did not recognize what I was writing.

Otherwise, my students did not recognize what I was writing. What age group are the students? My students usually ask what a word is if they're not sure about my writing. Like today the white board marker was dying so was just writing sloppy since needed to get new ones so didn't give too much attention to my writing since didn't want to keep marker open long. I clarified my writing though so wasn't confusing for them xD

I worked with special education students, so I had to change my handwriting to the handwriting they were using. Now, I can write like the elementary students are currently learning.

I changed my write directions on a paper trying to copy some writers curve lines, but the more older you become, the more hard to change it back; the same is for your character. I've heard that it strongly depends on your own character. Graphology has dealt with it, determining character by your handwriting.
