According to the book "Sex and Culture" by Unwin, in every rising culture in history brides were expected to be virgins, and in every decaying culture in history brides were not expected to be virgins. I would like to know if there are any exceptions to this rule.

I would like to know if there are any exceptions to this rule. What are the exceptions? Are you looking for a successful culture with degraded norms?

Mine is this.
I am surprised, that Europeans have a warrior history, and there have been more creations of empires, unlike the indian subcontinent, which has more or less stagnated. But all of a sudden, from where the non european races have entered, especially middle east. I hope you understood whom I am referring to.

This is the usual indigenous population of the Middle East they have been living there since the beginning of time! The Bible and archeology talk about this! You believe that 'they have been living there since the dawn of civilization', just because it is written in books? These are actually land grabbing techniques also, and they want others to be pushed out of their areas.

Well, the history of haplogroups(J and E) says that they lived there before Indo-European expansion!

I would like to know if there are any exceptions to this rule. There is no exception! If they were, it was interesting to know where and when!

I wonder what a world would look like if the Confederate States of America won the American Civil War, personally I don't think slavery would have continued for much longer, maybe 1880's at the latest.

I couldn't agree more, after the war, the South kept being traditionalist and sensible for the time, the north lost it's way.
