The legend of St. Christopher [the carrier of baby Christ across a river] is a myth to begin with and some years ago he was removed from the list of saints. However, somebody must have created a joke: he used a Greek-like icon of a saint but inserted a dog-like head -- in a very poor esthetic fashion. A useless joke.

joustos I don't think all the things are useless. I guess, there might have been some reason to create such a cynocephales. Anyway, yes, he was removed from the saints in both: the Orthodox and the Catholics tradition of saint gloryfing. However, there are some marginal churches here and there who praise him.
