Should horrors & slashers be banned? There are lots of crime happen, and presumably a part of it is caused by watching horrors or slashers. Kids watch certain movies, get scared, get experience, and then what? - Try to repeat it. Movies are dangerous themselves, because what is in movies is not real. Horrors and slashers demonstrate more violent and gore scenes. I'm not fan of banning movies, I think usually people are ok, at least most of them. The less politic in our life, the healthier our brains. But there were some cases when people got mad about watching movies. And considering there are such people everyone else should also not to watch them. www.tmz.com/2007/04/05/freddy-krueger-wannabe-slashes-friend-gets-slammer/FREDDY KRUEGER WANNABE Slashes Friend, Gets Slammer Call it "A Nightmare on Bulwer Road." A British man, Jason Moore, could spend the rest of his life in the clink for attacking his friend John-Paul Skamarski with a knife-equipped glove -- much like the one Freddy Krueger used to snag his prey in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" horror flicks. Moore and Skamarski, according to the British press, drank four liters of cider at Moore's house on Bulwer Road in Leicester, England, when Skamarski decided to take a sleeping pill and crash. The next thing Skamarski knew, Moore was slashing at his face with a bladed glove and a ten-inch bread knife, wherein a struggle ensued. Skamarski suffered cuts to his face, hand, and a stab wound in his chest. During the course of his trial, which ended yesterday with a life-imprisonment verdict, Moore admitted to watching "Nightmare" twenty times, but couldn't explain why he was slashing Skamarskin so savagely. Moore had reportedly made three other Freddy gloves over the years.

The problem is the difficulty in drawing a line as to what should be banned. The movie you mention is obviously detrimental. But he only did it after consuming alcohol, so perhaps that can be banned too?
Problem is they tried banning alcohol in america in the 20's and all they ended up doing was making a black market that empowered gangsters. Much of mob power still exists today as a consequence of that starting point.
There are plenty of people that would like to ban war movies, and there is a fuzzy line between what is an historical story, and what is fiction. Most war movies contain fictitious elements which assist in telling the story properly.

There are plenty of people that would like to ban war movies, and there is a fuzzy line between what is an historical story, and what is fiction. Most war movies contain fictitious elements which assist in telling the story properly. Do agree on that what exactly. Because there are movies like First Blood, Jacob's Ladder, and Saving Private Ryan. The same is about horrors. I don't agree about alcohol and other stuff. Long before the 20's there were precidents (in US also) of alcohol restrictions. However, I know a possible way to compromise: just to lower the percentage or to stop mention cocktails and beer as alcohol. Speaking truly I don't like drunk people. These people are dangerous and they make lots of trouble for police and ordinary people. Drugs or alcohol is another just addiction as visiting radical sects, etc. I don't mind people drink alcohol, but it should't be done in public places, and for certain it's better not to do lots of. Alcohol as any other drugs are just a kind of food.

Eugene 2.0Its clear to me though, that no matter how bad the movie is no matter how drunk one is, that won't make you a killer. What makes people go bezerk is child-abuse. And that always begins with corporal punishment. And terrible behavior from kids is most likely either going to come from abusive parents, abusive schools, or a hostile environment. If you bring up an animal in a situation where it is cared for, has enough to eat, is not abused in any way. Its not going to be randomly violent. I have had dozens of cats and dogs, and they don't go around killing other cats and dogs. So why should people? Violence perpetuates violence. And if one has ever been in a war, you will know this. Its impossible not to feel vengeful or go crazy in the vicinity of such things if it gets intense enough for long enough. So where from comes the first aggression? Competition for food and other resources. And that is caused by over-population. We also have to keep an eye out for passive-aggression. That can be even more dangerous than overt outright aggression.
