An easy and safe one to do is breath in through your nose as much as you can and flex your back chest up fill your lungs to the max (the flexion will activate your Vegas nerve)
Then let it out 2x slower then you did breathing it in (a minimum of 2x slower ) let it out all the way till your pretty much in a ball hunched over
This will press on your diaphragm which send signals to your brain to slow your heart down
Which will also slow down the rate of norepinephrine release which is directly correlated to anxiety and stress
And if you're on the verge of a panic attack and or having a panic attack then go outside and start a vigorously scanning The horizon where the sky meets the Earth look in every direction you can scanning The horizon
Believe it or not it works and will usually completely stop a panic attack within under a minute

I avoid pills. I can calm myself by spending time alone doing something I like. Usually reading, watching a movie, etc.

I avoid pills. I can calm myself by spending time alone doing something I like. Usually reading, watching a movie, etc. But, you know, I was arguing with my cousing about this. I told her that even a daily food is a sort of drugs. The fresh air is a drug (if you read "Fight Club" by Chuck Palanick you can get it clearly), even watching tv series and so on - are also sorts of drugs. That's why using drugs or pills (don't really matter) depends on a quality of them. That's all. All the one should be care about is to be accurate taking those pills, drugs, movies, pop-corn, chips, hot dogs, cola, soda.... etc etc.

"drug" is a specific category with specific parameters which the affects that a person can "feel" do not matter when categorizing a substance for the most part
