I feel bad for this Italian hermit. That place is his home and he took care of it. Maybe if he did everything to destroy the place then he wouldn't be good for it but he loved it and was it's caretaker. This role was passed to him from the previous caretaker. Is it fair to kick him out? I think not. www.cnn.com/travel/article/italian-hermit-leaving-budelli/index.html

Is anything fair in modern culture? I think not. True. But it's not like he was bothering anyone there if he was alone. People these days...

Some religions condemn the solitary life of the hermits because is based on egoism. But to have the capacity to be alone for a long time, is for me the independence of the social influence and transmission of mental pathologies. It's a technic.
I believe that some people transmit some mental pathologies by the means of religion and for the sake of religion. In that sense, there is a huge necessity to be alone and be good in our times. To be alone, by ourselves for a long period is the right way to be indepedent about bad social influences too. We don't have the need to be oblied to do anything. If we have the need to stop, we have the right to stop and be alone, and grown by ourselves.
