Is that true that the Cold War ended in November of 1989, when the Berlin's Wall fell? What about 00's? What about now? Are there still any signs of the Cold War now?

China is still there. And America is still perpetuating cold-war propaganda, like the fake moon-landings.

We're in a kind of Cold War with China. By we I mean the United States of America. China is at least on paper communist and they want to overtake us as the hegemon of the world. The only difference is that there's probably not the threat of nuclear annihilation involved because China can't really get their missiles to us if I'm not mistaken. The threat of nuclear annihilation does become a problem if Russia becomes allied with China more heavily though which is why we should pull a reverse Kissinger and ally with Russia and pit it against China as China and Russia still don't really like one another. Instead the democrats and republicans alike keep antagonizing Russia for some reason while kissing up to China.

Oh, it's sad :( But I wouldn't worry about any "mashing the red buttons", because at least it would be the insanest decision – Chernobyl proved such methods were too dangerous to deal with. And it is very possible to harm yourself by the consequences. So, I guess only a complete lunatic dares to do it. It's like destroying everything. Today's ecology isn't good, and even keeping such weapons is not a sane sign. And at the same time I don't think US keeps missiles for peace. It's a weapon to fright people. So could the other countries trust US after Hiroshima?

If one puts a gun to the head of another one, how can the latter trusts to the former? Well, I mean, the only time we threatened to nuke someone both of us had guns pointed at the other's head saying, "go ahead, make my day." I'm talking about the Soviet Union of course. They had nukes pointed at us as well. Otherwise we really never intended to nuke anyone other than the Japanese and that was to end the Second World War so us or God forbid the Soviets didn't have to invade the island.

If my neighbor would by a gun, I won't feel safety, even he's bought it for killing mice. That's why it is dishonest for anyone – Chinese, Soviets, Japanese, Americans, and so on – to carry a gun and talking about peace. My neighbors are not going to shoot me, but any robber will get brained quick. The time from the fall of the Soviet Union until now has been the most peaceful era in human history. Most of history has been one of constant wars everywhere on the map, empires conquering their neighbors, but in the 21st century everybody lives in cozy little nation states with no giant wars of conquest that I can think of. What is the difference between all of world history and now? The difference is that no one wants to anger the United States and bring its wrath upon them. The United States has the biggest guns and because of that there is peace. I would like to live in a world without nuclear weapons just like I would like to live in a world where unicorns exist and the sky rains candy but nukes have already been invented and people know how to develop them and someone is going to have them no matter what and no amount of holding hands and singing Kumbaya and John Lenin's Imagine pining for world peace is going to change that. The best we can do is make sure that sane countries have nukes and insane countries don't have them.

If you're a killer or you know that all what you bring is war and nuclear bombing, then it does not surprising that the peace for you is unicorns and rainbows. No, if you still haven't realized it yet that there are plenty good things without weapons, I can be sure something is really wrong with your worldview. Instead of bringing peace you would offer battles. "Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?" (Mathews 7:10).

How do you plan to get rid of nuclear weapons? How do you plan to convince Russia, or Iran, or North Korea, China or any other crazy government to give up their nuclear weapons without using force or/and never try to develop them ever again forever in perpetuity? Lets hear the practical plan you have in mind. And don't say, "oh I don't know but there's got to be a better way" because if you can't think of one then you are imagining an idealistic world of unicorns and rainbows. I live in the real world where there are real consequences. We live in an era of unprecedented peace right now at the height of American power. If you think you can do better inform me how please. NOTE: Also, I am not intending to personally attack or insult you. If I've done that or do that in this discussion, please tell me so I can apologize. I mean no disrespect at all and am sorry if anything comes off that way.

But not because of someone's opinion. I don't want to say anyone what to do for him. The world lives its own life, and I don't think anyone will hear me even if I loudly cry out. After all, I have no strong arguments of anything about this. But what it is clear to me is that no nuclear weapons are good. And no weapons either. How can I praise the gun?.. If I have insulted you I bring my apologizes. However, I had no even a thought that you wanted to bring harm to anyone. And however the gun can do it. I mean that maybe a person does not want to even think about to shoot, but the gun can shoot; a person does not want to even think about of someone's pain and suffering, but the weapon can do it. The weapons themselves are dangerous. There's a parable "to bury the hatchet of war". I think for God's sake we should do it in all senses and aspects!

For some reason I get unreasonably testy when it comes to whether violent force can be righteous or not. I did the same in an argument with DKtrav88, I really shouldn't talk about this topic. I do come from a culture of violence in the South, its part of my cultural values I was raised with I guess and I can't see how others would disagree with what I was raised to believe and choose to believe with my own faculties is obviously true.

No, I insist it was my fault, because it was I who started blaming US. I think I was twice wrong, because how did I even dare to speak about those subject not know nothing in many of as history so the rest of anything. If I were a general or someone else like that I could speak about it. You know, if I was really a peaceful person, I would show it by my own behaviour. I see I don't do this :| .
