karlHDDs won't die completely. Have you heard about HAMR HDDs? In October 2020 Seagate confirmed their intention to begin shipping 20TB HAMR drives in December 2020, with a target of 50TB by 2026.

Lone WandererI didn't know about HAMR hard drives. I just googled it and found they can sustain a transfer rate of up to 480 mb/s. That's more than enough for me to prefer them over SSD, if they also last longer.
