So the belief of her possibly crashing might not be true? I mean she was a very skilled pilot after all...so this theory of her taken to an island to be held as a prisoner would make sense. But where could her plane be?

But where could her plane be? The last radio transmission from her stated she had lost her bearing and was low on fuel. It has long since been speculated that she 'ditched' the aircraft at sea when the fuel reserve was depleted, presumably near a Pacific island. None of the plane's wreckage has ever been recovered.

So, you're saying after she ditched the plane she was looking for help or a way to return home or whatever she planned? Yet, those people decided to take her captive and then kill her? I mean it seems likely but...cruel. sheesh. Some help people give these days to strangers... :/
