We must be grateful to God for anything.
Some complains about that God hasn't done this, hasn't done that, but such a way of critic is under the critic itself. Before any critics to God we have to ask - what if God hadn't given us anything? If a person objects to God, then this person supposes God's existence. And if this person supposed it, one must understand that God was who could do something to this person (to release of mysery, or give something, etc). So, if the person claims that God is omnipotent, and He is able to help this person out, then this person must understand that God is the one who has created this person and this world.
No matter how this world can be seen: good, bad, magnificent, awful, bright, smooth, noir, lightful, clear, wonderful, amazing, cool, terrible, scary, funny, calmly, silently, noisy, harmonied, balanced, unbalanced, wide, thin, exhaustive, poor, free, chained, plain, difficult, various, different, united, unified, classified, opened, miserable, disgusting, lovely, peaceful, dreadful, exciting, fantastic, and so on, and so on - for all of that (not only for good, or bad part), for all of those colours we must be grateful to God!
All those kinds (including evil ones) are chances. Are chances to do something. Without God we couldn't had anything. That's why we must be grateful to God for anything!
