Over 80 Percent of COVID-19 Patients Have Vitamin D Deficiency, Study Finds Vitamin D deficiency was more prevalent in men Vitamin D is a hormone the kidneys produce that controls blood calcium concentration and impacts the immune system. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a variety of health concerns, although research is still underway into why the hormone impacts other systems of the body. Many studies point to the beneficial effect of vitamin D on the immune system, especially regarding protection against infections. "Vitamin D treatment should be recommended in COVID-19 patients with low levels of vitamin D circulating in the blood since this approach might have beneficial effects in both the musculoskeletal and the immune system."
The researchers found 80 percent of 216 COVID-19 patients at the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla had vitamin D deficiency, and men had lower vitamin D levels than women. One underlying factor could be that many of those who are low on D vitamin are also low on omega 3, since eating fat fish is usually the main source for both. Someone who doesn't eat fish, doesn't take omega 3 supplements, or use olive oil, is likely to have a omega 3 deficiency, leading to an overactive immune system. The intake of omega 6 should not be higher than four times that of omega 3.

If Karl is right, there are omega 3 complexes to buy too. Usually codliver oil has it plenty enough. I proposed my friends to go out playing basketball, instead of sitting for ours in front of fastly changing images. Computer kills us faster than natural things. Electricity rip us apart quicklier than water. I'll go fishing. Mann, would you come with me? =)

I've always found it pretty boring. Now I guess I need to rethink it twice. Btw, Lorac, you may join us. It allows you to get that extra health we risk to have with Mann×2. (^~^)

Ohhhh is me alas!! Fish I cannot stand the smell of them...the Sun I am allergic to and with my age short of Vitamin D is the norm I am doomed
