I think like Chinese and Korean because of how they are written. Just probably takes forever to write an essay by hand in those languages I think. Each letter probably takes 5+ seconds just to write it.
I mean it is fancy and I like it but too complex for me xD
How about the languages for you that seem hard to learn in full?

That said, English is the language of global commerce so any other language for me would have to be for reasons other than trade. For example, if I was to take a shine to say, Russia, as a regular destination, I would bone up on the language to simply get about more conveniently.

I agree and would do the same for a regular destination.

I would say Chinese and Arabic. Both of them are complicated languages. Japanese is not easy too.

I'm actually 100% ethnic Filipino-American who grew up in the US, but many do often mistake me for Chinese/East-Asian due to the obvious strong influence in my appearance. In fact, in terms of appearance I prob look more like half Chinese + half SE-Asian rather than full. And the only Asian language I'm actually conversant in is Tagalog hahaha

Also, reading Korean isn't actually that hard. I think the symbols are all based on the movements you make with your mouth so the symbol that makes the "C" sound as in cat looks like this: > There's videos out there that can teach you in like 15 minutes. Of course, learning what Korean words means is a different story.

I don't believe this is a philosophical question. Languages are easy or hard depending on the degree of affinity of their linguistic systems to your mother tongue. the closer the language to your native language, the easier it is to learn and the opposite is true. if there was a Chinese among us here, he wouldn't answer " Chinese is the most difficult language. it took me fifteen years to learn it from my mother". he would probably say Arabic or English or any other language whose phonetic, lexical and semantic systems are different form Chinese.
