The Hague Tribunal sentenced General Mladic to life imprisonment!International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia(ICTY) has sentenced 74-year-old General Ratko Mladic to life imprisonment for war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was found guilty on ten of the eleven items, in particular the genocide of Muslims in Srebrenica and taking UN staff in 1995. Accused of genocide of Bosnian Muslims and Croats in 1992 the General was acquitted. The court's decision has not affected the mitigating circumstances that defense. We are talking about poor health, Mladic and his old age. In addition, the lawyers drew attention to the fact that he assisted some of the victims. During sentencing, Mladic was removed from the hall for disorderly conduct. Protection General will appeal the decision of the ICTY. Mladic himself, according to his son, he believes the trial is an attempt to accuse Serbs of all crimes. Mladic commanded the Bosnian Serb army during the armed conflict of 1992-1995 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first accusation from the international justice against him was made in July 1995, a year later, Mladic was put on the international wanted list. Since then, he disappeared, becoming the most wanted war criminal suspects in the former Yugoslavia. In 2011, Serbian authorities arrested him and brought to the Hague. The trial of Mladic began in may 2012. Prosecutors accused him of genocide, crimes against humanity, violations of the laws or customs of war. Mladic's guilt denied. The court hearing took 530 days, they made more than 160 prosecution witnesses and more than 200 witnesses for the defense. ria.ru/world/20171122/1509338031.html?referrer_block=index_main_1

Ratko Mladic is a hero and a saint Are you seriously? For me Mladic historical figure but to me it is difficult to evaluate because I was not an eyewitness of his deeds! But I know that because of him many Orthodox Serbs died too! So he is a complex figure. P.S I knew that the Serbs will protected him!

But the Serbian government for not protecting Mladic! It is clear that they are not strong, but if people could hide it from such a court in the Hague! Remember though the fate of Milosevic!

Yes, Serbian government for the last 17 years is no longer in service of Serbs. In other words they betrayed us. If you had only read what our president said how "we should not look in the past but in presence and in future and that the verdict is not instrumented towards entire Serbian nation". Such a patethic excuse for a human being. Our problem here is, even though we got only a couple of traitors (in government and other structures), we have pleeeenty of opportunist servants that serve to those traitors.

Who will believe in objectivity of that tribunal if the criminals who participated in crimes against Serbian population are released?

Most people in Serbia think it was framed as the Hague had convicted only Serbs, while for example Gotovina and Oric were set free.

They tried to leap frog history into the advanced future. Pretty high stakes gamble. It did not play out and the defeat was a resounding one that basically rounded up the governing classes from that period.
