These latest troubles in the United States, I think, have proven that Americans can no longer live with one another under the same flag and in the same country. I am utterly disgusted with left wing Americans and I do not consider these people as any kind of kith and kin to myself.
The people of California, or New York, or Massachusetts are as alien to me as the people of France and their values are antithetical to every value I hold dear. I consider them a grave threat to all of my liberties, my right to free speech, my right to worship my God, my right to bear arms, my right to live in a wealthy first world prosperous society, my right to exercise the franchise, my right to live in a safe well policed society, and pretty much any other right you can name.
I feel this way and I know that many people around me in my conservative, religious, and individual liberty loving southern state feel the same. Moreover at this point it is dangerous for people with such values as opposed as those held by the differing camps of Americans to remain under the same state as they will always compete with one another for control of the central government and try to force upon the other camp values that they at the most primal level cannot tolerate. This goes on every election cycle and fuels bitter resentment between the different camps as every election cycle the two parties move further toward the extremes.
The left wing in this country is now turning to violence and terrorism in our streets, destroying our cities (well, their own cities but they've threatened to come into our dwelling places as well), defacing not just confederate monuments but monuments to any great American hero with a light skin tone (even Abraham Lincoln who freed the slaves), setting up lawless and violent autonomous zones where murder and violence are frequent, and passing policies to defund police departments threatening to turn American cities into lawless hellscapes, all the while openly espousing that they want to tear down our civilization and replace it with one based upon Marxist principles (which always leads to millions of deaths whenever implemented.)
These ideological zealots infused with the fanaticism of their Puritan ancestors (culturally and often biologically) may spark a violent reaction from the civilized half of the United States if they do not cease and desist immediately. I am deathly afraid that eventually these people are going to spark a Civil War. I don't want this and I don't know any sane person who does. So what is the solution?
The solution is separation. As long as we are in the same country the leftists will not leave us alone so we shouldn't be in the same country. We need to balkanize the United States.
The question is however, what is the best way to do this? I have often talked about how these divides are cultural divides originating in the different peoples who settled in the different colonies on the eastern seaboard in the colonial period and their descendants spread westward across the continent in later decades. Basically different people settled different parts of the United States and laid down the cultural DNA in different regions creating different "nations" that are ideologically and culturally opposed.
This is Colin Woodard's "American Nations" theory building upon the work of David Hackett Fischer, Kevin Phillips, Wilbur Zelinsky, and many others and the theory is proven by dialect maps, religion maps, genetic clustering, material culture maps, political behavior and countless other pieces of evidence.
So if we were to divide the United States on cultural lines it would look like this.
The problem is that most these are not viable countries for reasons that should be obvious.
After mulling it over and trying to decide how I think the United States should be divided I think that it should be done by state. States are supposed to be sovereign under the original understanding of the Constitution and are the most politically legitimate actors. I think there should be a referendum in every state in which the options are "red" or "blue" and if the majority in a state vote red, they join the red conservative confederation of states, and if they vote blue, they join the blue leftist/Marxist confederacy of states. Thus there would be two countries a "red state" confederacy and a "blue state" confederacy.
I think that the end result would look like this.
As you can see the north and west coast mostly inhabited by Yankees and Left Coasters (Left Coasters are just Yankees that moved to West Coast in the 1800's) would be in the leftist blue confederacy and the south and west would be in the conservative confederacy. The leftist country would have more ideological cohesion and they should be able to live with one another peacefully.
In the conservative country there is a split between the south, which is more socially conservative, and the west, which is more libertarian, but conservatives believe in states rights so this shouldn't be a problem as the Red States would not interfere with each other regarding social and economic policy very much (although abortion could be a thorny issue but it can be hashed out).
