Good news but most of "permanent cure" stuff never leave their lab/test stage. Either they are too risky or biomedical/pharmaceutical companies are not interested in such researches.
I remember that I read news about cures for new natural teeth and growing head hairs several years ago. And it seems they are still in the lab.

You are right that colds and allergies are very similar in symptom and origin. But genetics is almost entirely pseudo-science. 15 years ago I had so many allergies I could not count them all. I now have none, except when I do not follow my own advice. The cure for both colds and allergies is simple in principle but difficult to practise because it requires: will-power. Simply avoid all complex carbohydrates and preservatives. So: no bread, sugar, sweet fruit, alcohol, Cheetos, yellow veg, etc... The list is endless, so its easier to say what you can eat: Fresh meat and fish and green veg, plain yoghurt, and small amounts of butter. Some nuts are ok, but not peanuts. Basically you need to carefully figure out what a 'complex carbohydrate' actually is. And then you need to not be a needy baby about it. That's the hard part. ;-j

They're my favorite chips in the world. Small amounts maybe?

Don't need a third rescue from swimming. :/ The safest way to swim is get a pair of flippers and goggles. It takes less effort to swim with flippers than it does taking a slow stroll. Once you start diving under you'll realize how its like flying in another world. I once swam with 100 wild dolphins - the leader was circling me just a yard away. I was lucky to have goggles on, and I went under - it was more exhilarating than anything I can even imagine - the sounds they were all making were indescribable in their beauty - like they were all talking and singing - and those sounds are of such intense vibration that you can feel them in your body all around. I was just surrounded by dolphins as far as I could see underwater - they were all encircling me - it was like we knew each other from past lives. That moment changed me forever. I can never fear the water - nor fear anything at all after that.
