Hey i'm Flattered! i'had to brew some coffee for this, here i go!
About Closure being a good thing:
What i think about this being a good or bad thing, will depend on what kind of life you feel more delight in experiencing
and on your own appreciation of what is good and bad. If what you are searching for is a sense of certainty and belonging,
accepting your own faith as absolute, its completely rational and a valuable way of living.
In one hand you have the peace it brings and calmness to your life, in the other hand you forbid yourself from toying with the structures that support your belief systems.
I'm a boy, i find enjoyment in playing and dismantling my own structures, i have found an interesting game in trying to put them all together so naturally closure for me means i'll have to find a new hobby.
About God Existence
I don't discard the existence of god, in fact i find it a very interesting topic, because it doesn't matter how far ahead science
throws the limits of human knowledge, every new discovery reveal 100 or more questions, and so on, we had the atom to explain matter, but now there is an even complex system of smaller particles and new dimensions you could say knowledge of something, has a fractal nature, zoom in/out all you want, there is no end to it.
We can never know everything, because more knowledge implies also more ignorance, so god can never be disproved.
About God as a Being
I have never observed anything outside myj own being, so how could i tell if there is anything outside of my mind.
Sometimes i think everything i have ever experienced and will experience is the complete universe, and god is the fact that this is happening, and in calling god a fact and not a being i'm not trying to be offensive. What i'm trying, is to make emphasis on what you wrote before, no one can fully define God, i'll say No one can even start to define it.
So saying it is a being, gives me the feeling that we already categorized it's nature, but about the nature of god i'll say it's of it's own kind, i bet it's the fabric of everything that exist, mind and matter alike.
thanks you if you read this far,
