I agree with the anti-globalization part. The Tower of Babel and the Book of Revelation are extremely anti one world government. When a one world government comes into place that will be the government of the antichrist. Not to mention that global government is just a dumb idea. Why would I want such different cultures such as China, Sub Saharan Africa, and India (where the population centers of the world are) to vote on what effects the USA? I don't even like Californians to have a vote on what happens in South Carolina (no offense to Californians).

For example, let's say this one country in the Old World is making decisions/voting on what happens in a state in the New World. And the people voting/deciding always hated that state. Do you think they'll vote to help the state or vote for things to go bad for them? Hope my question makes sense. |

The Tower of Babel story is anti-globalization, not anti-technology.
Egypt is simply an example of the life-cycle of a civilization. At the time of Joseph, Egypt was much like America today. Potiphar's wife was a typical modern American women - a lying s-l-u-t (which this moronic forum software censors). No one bothers keeping their word to Joseph, there is no sense of responsibility. The Pharaoh is lazy and offloads his work to Joseph. The people have no savings, so when hard times come they all become slaves. This is where America is headed.

I think that people are tribal by nature and part of being tribal is favoring one's ingroup at the expense of one's outgroup. I think in a one world government every country, culture, and tribe will be out for themselves and not for the good of all. They'll use the government to benefit themselves and if they perceive some other group as an enemy they will vote against the interests of that group. That is why the nation-state is a beautiful thing. The nation-state basically says Turks rule themselves through the state of Turkey and have no say over anyone else (obviously not a perfect analogy with the Kurds being in Turkey), the French rule over themselves through the state of France but have no say over what happens in Britain. I personally think at the moment that the borders of the world are imperfect. I think a lot of ethnic, racial, and cultural division between countries could be solved by giving the different peoples involved in their own country. South Africa, for instance, has like 4 races, over ten tribes, and even divisions between the whites between the Afrikaners and descendants of the British where there is still animosity between them. There's plenty of land; I say just divide the country between these peoples and form nation states. In short, I believe that peoples with different cultures should govern themselves. That is why I am a Jeffersonian in politics. I believe basically in home rule for the states of the United States. South Carolina my state has cultural values completely opposite of Vermont, for instance. I personally wouldn't want to live under a Bernie Sanders style Democratic Socialist society, nor would most of the people in my state. But if Vermonters want to do this then I think that is their right and I wish for them to do it. I just don't want them to force their values on my state nor for my state to force its values upon them. |
