Yes, God made a fire breathing sea monster. You think God made an amphibious tank? Since when does God make machines? The detail is there to humble Job. I’d say behemoth is a dinosaur as a hippopotamus most certainly doesn’t have the tail of a cedar tree which is a very large tree, and hippopotami do not get their food from the mountains. Good point about the Behemoth. I must have recalled another verse by error. However my point about the Leviathan remains. God made all things, including machines, as God made their builders. There are no other fire-emitting entities other than those God made through man. Its also vital to see that this is one way to teach and humble ancient people into a respect for right over might. The man of God can control such power purely due to his mind, not due to strength. I challenge you to back up your claim of anything in creation that emits fire, other than machines. Do not fall into the error of assuming that history books contain all that occurred in history. The tower of Babel, and the long lives of Noah's ancestors show that there must have been much more advanced human societies than our present one. It would be vanity to suggest that only contemporary people had the capacity to build powerful machines. "However my point about the Leviathan remains." Here in Job 41:1-2, God asked Job if he can fish(angle) for leviathan, "draw out...with an hook". Also, what kind of tank has a nose or a jaw? Job 41:1-2 1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? 2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? "God made all things, including machines, as God made their builders." Can you show me an example in the Bible where God takes the credit for things man made? I would argue that man has free will and that all things that man does is done through man's own accord. I would also argue that man made idols and God hates idols, so why would God take credit for man making something that He hates and doesn't want man to worship? "I challenge you to back up your claim of anything in creation that emits fire, other than machines." One would first have to prove God did indeed create machines, whether through man or not. Going back to the creature in Ezekiel, it is describing a cherubim perfectly except for the faces, two faces are different. How is it that because two faces are different it automatically means it's a machine when the rest of the physical description is exactly the same? That doesn't really make sense. "Do not fall into the error of assuming that history books contain all that occurred in history." The OT is essentially a history book. "The tower of Babel, and the long lives of Noah's ancestors show that there must have been much more advanced human societies than our present one." Or, that there was something different about the world before the flood; you might think it was advanced technology, I do not as the Bible doesn't record this as the case, it would have to be interjected. Also, Noah and the tower of Babel existed long before Ezekiel and Job. I thought this was interesting.

What I said was that different faces at the vantage points are consistent with the idea that it is a machine. So there are various creatures within it, and they switch places. Is there another explanation? None that has been offered so far, so that remains the best explanation as it certainly could not be an animal with four faces, one which changes. What else is there? You say there were no machines before the flood? But a ship is a type of mechanism. Of course a flying machine is quite more advanced, but so what? The Bible could not possibly record everything that ever existed, it would be a million books. My Bible claims that it is not known when the book of Job was written. But I do not see how that is relevant. What must be appreciated is that Jesus is quite unique in promoting the end of secret information. (Esoteric ideas, or Magic). For Jesus openly proclaimed in John 14 that "those who believe in me can do greater things than me". Of course these would only be greater in the sense that a roof is greater than a foundation of a house. The foundation is more important. The point I am making is that before Christianity knowledge was jealously guarded and the notion of machines being explained was rare. Normally pre-Christian thinking preferred to overpower others by claiming 'magic'. Thus knowledge we think of today as science was not openly shared. In this way the existence of ancient machines would never have been on the industrial scale. They would be owned only by a few greedy folk. The laws of physics certainly have not changed. A steam-engine is a small step from a water-wheel.

A steam-engine is a small step from a water-wheel. "What I said was that different faces at the vantage points are consistent with the idea that it is a machine." I'm not understanding how the vantage point makes it consistent with the idea that it is a machine when, besides the faces, the creatures have the same exact description in Ezekiel 1 and 10 shrug "and they switch places." Not sure where this is in scripture. "What else is there?" Ezekiel 10... "You say there were no machines before the flood? But a ship is a type of mechanism." If you are going to argue semantics then yes, a ship is a machine IF it has moving parts. Did Noah's ark have moving parts? Scripture doesn't say. "The Bible could not possibly record everything that ever existed, it would be a million books." Well, I'm not going to ADD things to scripture that simply aren't there shrug "My Bible claims that it is not known when the book of Job was written." Job dwelled in the land of Uz, which is in Edom. The land of Edom came into existence during the time of Jacob, so Job existed some time between the time of Jacob and later. "But I do not see how that is relevant." It is relevant because it is post flood, one would think we'd discover remnants of ancient flying machines shrug or at least see record of them outside the Bible, but we don't even see that. "What must be appreciated is that Jesus is quite unique in promoting the end of secret information. (Esoteric ideas, or Magic). For Jesus openly proclaimed in John 14 that "those who believe in me can do greater things than me"." I'm going to end the conversation here. Jesus wasn't a magician... and people who practiced magic in the Bible, sorcerers, are going to hell according to Revelation. They are NEVER put in a positive light anywhere in the Bible. I'm going to suggest that you take scripture at face value, rather than interjecting ideas into it that otherwise wouldn't be there. It was nice talking to you jon

Amen James 1:23-25 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Galatians 1:6-12 [6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. [10] For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. [11] But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. [12] For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it , but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

God of vengeance, Yehovah, god of vengeance, show yourself. Rise up, judge of the earth, repay the proud. How long will the wicked, Yehovah, how long will the wicked rejoice and spout arrogance? All the doers of evil crush your people, Yehovah, and defile your inheritance. Blessed is the man who you instruct, Yehovah, and who learns from your teaching to be calm during evil times until a pit is dug for the wicked. Because Yehovah will not abandon his people and will not leave his inheritance. Therefore righteousness will return from judgement, and all those of right mind will follow it. Will a destructive government that makes trouble by law be joined to you? They band together against righteous souls and condemn innocent blood. But Yehovah is my stronghold and my god is the rock of my refuge. And he will bring on them their wickedness, and for their evil he will destroy them, Yehovah, our god, will destroy them. -- Psalm 94:1-5,12-15,20-23 my translation

The Parable Of The Sower
Mark 4:1-20 1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
Luke 8:4-15 4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

I always thought that this verse from the NLT of Proverbs 26:13 was hilarious. "The lazy person claims, "There's a lion on the road! Yes, I'm sure there's a lion out there!" Read the latter sentence sarcastically and you'll see what I mean.
