The "half-your-age-plus-seven" rule
The "never date anyone under half your age plus seven" rule is a rule of thumb sometimes used to prejudge whether an age difference is socially acceptable. Although the origin of the rule is unclear, it is sometimes considered to have French origin.
In modern times, this rule has been criticised as being more accurate for men than women, and for allowing a greater maximum age for a woman's partner later in her life than is actually socially acceptable.

I don't like that rule. I like as close to your age as possible rule Shrug
Plus i just did half my age and added 7 and went ewwwwww no that's almost the age of my oldest student.

Personally I wouldn't date anyone more than 2 or 3 years younger or older than myself.

You can certainly abide by this sort of rule, but you just might miss the love of your life by not giving her- or him- a chance because of their age.
The heart knows what it wants and you never know who you're going to be attracted to until it hits you.

i had worked it out to be no more than double over 13
although in later years it does not matter,
its more for younger people
