This pope lied. Bible/God says that if you don't accept Jesus you will not go to heaven. Pope doesn't care about what God says though and lied to the kid
Your thoughts?

Sad to say, I like the Dalai Lama more than the Pope now. Dalai Lama's got more sense.

He absolutely did lie. He pretty much just described a works salvation too, saying that because his dad did good by baptizing him and that was enough to get him into heaven, but the Bible clearly says you must believe in Christ and that works alone will not mean anything without faith. A lot of people, specifically Catholics, will get upset when someone tells them they aren’t Christian, but when they praise this man, the pope, and believe what he says about God, then they can’t be Christian because what he says is not what the Bible says. I’m sure the pope knows about John 3:16 and the many other verses in the Bible that faith in Christ is needed for salvation, but to lie to this kid, basically sugar coat to the point of diabetes, just to help the kid feel better about his atheist dad dying isn’t going to help the kid at all. The kid now believes a lie sad
I’m interested to see what Catholics say about this myself.

Pretty interesting too I think Yeah, if I remember right the Dalai Lama picks the Panchen Lama and the Panchen Lama in turn picks the next Dalai Lama. They believe that these people are reincarnated over and over again so it it is a question for them of finding the next Lama rather than choosing one. Tibetan culture has always interested me as Tibet was essentially a medieval pre modern kingdom isolated in the mountains in the 20th century before Mao's China tragically ended their way of life and conquered them. These videos of Tibetan life before its fall to China are quite interesting.

Nothing's wrong with Pope. He tries to unite good people. Mel Gibson has similar POV:

Well, you are all right here. The reason why Pope said so was explained by Lone Wanderer really close to. The modern Catholicism takes into account the other religious views, and even other philosophical views of people. Such catholic philosophers like Paul Virilio said that to feel Christ's feelings, or the feelings that Christ could be able to feel... is a way to be a Christian. I know that this theme is in tough discussion, but if God is really so powerful, it seems that He hasn't needed to destroy all those tribes and people which weren't familiar with Christianity. Even a burglar in Gospels was the first man who made a step to Heavens. So, we shouldn't need to be so rough and angry at those who don't bless the same religious views as we are. Many people deserve to go to Heaven. Many people are just like children. They don't deserve all those suffer or even pleasure. The nature took care about us, and put us in its conditions. It's impossible for us to be responsible for many many things in this world. To make a little gift for someone - is a really good thing. Just sending a smile may be enough to save a life of someone.

I want to ask if I typed it correctly "...to save a life of someone"? I think I should write "...to save someone's life" instead, right? To make a little gift for someone - is a really good thing. Just sending a smile may be enough to save a life of someone. This is true! We should never cease to do what's good and right May I ask, please, is it correct to say "...to save a life of someone"? I think I should've been written "...to save someone's life" instead, right? And you typed "...what's good and right", but I think that it should be 'good' and 'bad', or 'right' and 'wrong'?

I was only mentioning positive things. So things that are good, right, pleasant, kind, etc.
