Just as cute pair unknown and Eodnhoj7 share a thread to discuss philosophy together, so Dk and I plan to share our own discussion too. Please refrain from comments here. You can make your own threads based off stuff here for your own separate discussions.

Yes I completely agree God commands us to not to kill. Jesus says to the rich man in Matthew 19, Luke 18, and Mark 10 that not only must we keep the commandments but we must also put all of our faith and trust in God. Keeping the commandments is a reflection of our faith, it shows that we truly do love Him. One of those commandments was "Thou shall not kill" so anyone who does not keep His commandments is not of God, 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. The rich man asks what he must do to have eternal life, and Jesus tells him that he must keep the commandments, Matthew 19:16-19 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. And all these verses here which tell us to keep the commandments if we love Him, those who do love Him keep His commandments, and those who do are His children, John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Just so much supporting this, but the point I am making is that God does not want us to kill at all, it is a sin in His book. So abortion being the killing of a person is a sin; it is giving a child the death penalty for someone else's actions. And this leads also into the subject of capital punishment which is also contrary to God's word "Thou shall not kill". It is really very clearly obvious that when you kill someone who you are not loving them, Paul points out how following the commandments is loving others, Romans 13:8-10 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. You cannot do any ill will to your neighbor if you follow God's commandments, that is a fact. I also completely agree with this Agree? Disagree? Comments? I agree with all of this. I also wanted to point out something. People thought on Sabbath days you took a break from doing good like loving your neighbor and so on but Jesus was correcting people and saying we must still follow the rest of the commanments on the Sabbath day too. We do not take a day off on the commandments. We just take a day to rest physically and to spend more on commandments actually since with a day off we have extra time to do more good. I'm specifically talking about this verse.... Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? Luke 6:9 It's clear that in the verse Jesus said saving a life is good while destroying (letting a life die or killing a life) is evil. So, if we are to do good as we are instructed on all days including the Sabbath then how can we kill a human being...ever? Clearly, killing is evil so abortionists/murderers are evil and they do not enter the kingdom of God. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8 Because we're instructed to do good in EVERY good work. Every work means ALWAYS doing good on every single day. And always doesn't have a sometimes bad or a sometimes kill day. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:2 Corinthians 9:8 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:10 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.2 Timothy 2:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21 Otherwise...we are reprobates which are wicked people who are rejected by God as suprisingly some definitions are this detailed of retrobates. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Titus 1:16 So if we don't learn to do good works very time then we're good for nothing. Jesus reminded them that there isn't a day off to save a life. Every day is a day to save a life. Every day is a day not to kill. Every day is a day is to follow every commandment. But those who took a day off on a sabbath or any day... Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17 I don't want to be like the people God rejected who knew to do good but didn't. He will only put up for so long. He's patient but He won't wait forever. Nor will He accept lukewarm. For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Jeremiah 4:22 Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? Yes, in Luke 6:9 Jesus was asking them if it is lawful to do good works on the sabbath day, but the Pharisees didn't answer Him. Before that, He brought up OT scripture in that a priest gave food, that was for only priests to eat, to hungry people, David being one of them, even though it was unlawful according to the ordinances; Jesus uses the example of that priest for why the ordinances don't matter when it is a good work, in this case, loving your neighbor. And I agree with the rest and I don't have anything more to add. You? Or should we move on to another topic? Any suggestions?

Hmm...what about the new life in Christ or what a born again Christian is? Like the before and after a person becomes a new creation in Christ. What that all looks like. Unlesss you have another idea? Sure, we can do that. Did you want to start? Ok, I'll start with this... So if you're a Christian you must live a new life. You must be like Christ. This means you live like He lived. Then we will be in the image of God once again. Restored from sin/death. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 And God makes it clear that nothing else matters except living your new life in Christ. As a new creation in the image of God. This is the most important thing for God to see in us. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Galatians 6:15 If we continue our old life in the flesh then we will come to corruption. Our end will be in hell. To change this we must live a new life in the Spirit. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:8 Jesus put great emphasis on this new life or our new birth...a person not born into God's family cannot be with God in His home/kingdom. They simply cannot see God's kingdom without it. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 He doesn't want us surprised or to marvel. If you don't become part of God's family then you simply won't be in it. It's simple. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:7 There's only 2 families in the end. There are no blood DNAs after this life but spirit DNA. Our family on earth isn't our real family after death. There are only 2 families in reality. One family is God's family and one family is Satan's. Which one are we born into? That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6 One seed of corruption and one seed that's incorruptible. 2 seeds = 2 families Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23 And the most important part there is that it says the word of God can give you this incorruptible seed. The word of God is found in scripture. We must seek God in it to find Him and to be welcomed into His family. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:25 So a Christian must go to the scripture to learn the word of God to be born again into their new life. It all starts with God's word. And those who do what scripture says will be blessed because they'll be in God's Kingdom. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke:11:28 As born again Christians we can then become His family (mother and brethren). Jesus knows His real family isn't blood family on earth or anyone else. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luke 8:21 Those who don't do what scripture says do not belong to God. Satan doesn't do what scripture says either. They're of Satan's household. But doers of God's word are of God's household. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Ephesians 2:19 This born again Christian will in the end die for the word of God if needed. Because he only cares about what God says not what satan or any person says. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: Revelation 6:9 Some will be fake followers too and won't be born again in spirit. They will proclaim to be in God's family but God will see Satan there not Christ because they won't be in Christ but in Satan. It's because they follow people like popes, priests, etc and not His word. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men. Mark 8:33 And God's seed will be seen in His children when they do righteousness in their new life in God's image. Unless they're the children of Satan of course. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 3:10 Or real eternal Father seeks His children to love Him. This is what a born again Christian always does. He loves God and His new family. And loves others to guide them to God too so they can be in God's family too. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:2 Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? What will you add?

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:2 Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? What will you add? I agree. We must become a new creature, born of the Spirit, and have the Spirit of Christ. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 6 is a chapter that explains what it means to be born again and what a Christian is to do and not to do, 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is talking about baptism, but those are who baptized are born again, and it says we should not continue in sin, but that we are dead to sin as Christ was buried, and we are to walk in newness of life as Christ was raised up from death. Our old man was crucified with Him. We are to not let sin reign in our mortal bodies, but we are to yield ourselves, our bodies, to God. Our bodies are to be instruments of righteousness. We are free from sin, it no longer has dominion over us. And as Hebrews 10:26-27 says, if we sin wilfully there is no more sacrifice for sins because Christ died once for all, Hebrews 10:26-27 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. If those who received the Holy Ghost fall away, it is impossible for them to be renewed, Hebrews 6:4-6 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. All this supporting what you said, along with the scripture you cited, that we cannot sin after we are born again, that we cannot live in the flesh after being born again or we will die spiritually. And yes, we are His children, we are His family. Paul says here that we are all family in heaven and in earth named by Jesus Christ, Ephesians 3:14-19 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. And as you also said and cited from the Bible, those who commit sin, those who are in the flesh are children of the devil, and those who are born of God do not sin, but do righteousness, 1 John 3:7-10 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. We are commanded by Jesus to be perfect like our Father in heaven, Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. ...and in the context in which this is written, Jesus is talking about love, and as we know, love is fulfilling the law, keeping the commandments, Romans 13:7-14 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Therefore, a Christian is to keep God's commandments, love all, and sin not. Now, just because are to love all, does not mean we are befriend or be in anyway associated with evil, James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. Proverbs 16:17-33 17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. 20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. 21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. 22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. 23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. 24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. 25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. 26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him. 27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. 28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. 29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. 30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass. 31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. 32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. 33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord. Psalm 119:115 Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God. Proverbs 4:14-15 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. Agree? Disagree? Anything to add?

I absolutely agree. Wanted to mention more on these things you said. So we are to stay away from anything that looks evil/wrong. We can't even keep close association with people who do evil. We love them but stay clear and stay cautious. Why? Because bad company ruins us. We must stick to our family in Christ and not partake with the family of Satan so we don't stumble. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33 We are not allowed to act like family with them. We keep distance. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. 2 Thessalonians 3:14 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1 Corinthians 5:11 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 1 Corinthians 5:9 We can't keep company with them to partake in their sins. There is only reason for us to spend time with them. It's to show love by telling them of Christ but if they reject us then we leave them as 1 Corinthians and 2 Thessalonians said above. 2 Thessalonians says that of they reject our preaching then we end our company with them. Our company can only continue with those who accept and are part of God's family with us. And when we find out that they're not godly then we end company too as 1 Corintians in above verse said. Otherwise we can keep company until they reject our preaching as Jesus did... But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. Matthew 9:12 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9:13 So we can just be around them enough to show Christ to them and to see that we're different because we're born of the Spirit and are Christlike. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Otherwise we don't partake with them. And we never go to places that promote sin to reach out to them. Like in below verses..if a group of them is gathering for sin...we do not go gather with them. My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. Proverbs 1:10 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Proverbs 1:11 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: Proverbs 1:12 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Proverbs 1:13 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: Proverbs 1:14 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: Proverbs 1:15 As verse 10 says do not consent to go to a sinful event with them. And verse 15 reminds us again to stay away with pursuing into this event with them. We can only reach out to them before they gather and/or after they gather to correct them but we do not purposely join in when they set out to do their crimes. Jesus only preached in safe places not places where people met to do evil. He preached on a mountain, synagogue, etc. When He ran into a woman in the middle of being killed then He said it wasn't right to kill but He didn't decide to purposely show up to all their killing events or any sinful events. His job and our job isn't to force people to not sin or to watch people sin in bad places. Plus as verse "Abstain from all appearance of evil" is a good guide. Because if we see a place that is used for people to meet up and do drugs or something then we know to abstain from that place because it's evil. If we enter an evil place we may never return.... For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. Proverbs 2:18 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. Proverbs 2:19 There's a good verse too but can't find it so maybe next time. Basically we must remember... Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2 Corinthians 6:16 Wouldn't want to even enter a house of Satan. Like those chuches with upside down crosses or the serpent. Yuck. Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

I agree. We must become a new creature, born of the Spirit, and have the Spirit of Christ. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Yuck. Agree? Disagree? Thoughts? I agree with all that you said. Correct, and when people got violent and wanted to kill Him while He was preaching He left that place. He never went to places where evil was being done, evil always came to Him and He always resisted it. We should follow His example in this and everything else. There's also this verse, which is what Jesus did as well, James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Yes I agree. Have we exhausted this topic or is there something else you'd like to point out?

I absolutely agree. Wanted to mention more on these things you said. So we are to stay away from anything that looks evil/wrong. We can't even keep close association with people who do evil. How about the topic of false prophets? Sounds good. Would you like to start it? Sure, I can start. Jesus warned us that there would be false prophets and false Christs, Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. And Paul, furthermore, warned about false apostles, 2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. But even before Paul and Jesus' warnings, OT prophets like Jeremiah had been told by God about these false prophets that will come in God's name, but God did not send them, Jeremiah 14:13-16 13 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place. 14 Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. 16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them. God says those who prophesy falsely and those who listen to them and believe them will have their own wickedness poured out upon them. Later on in Jeremiah we get another instance in where false prophets come in the name of God, but God did not send them, Jeremiah 23:11-16 11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord. 12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the Lord. 13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. 14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. 16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. A little more detail in this case, we see that these false prophets came to Samaria and Jerusalem caused God's people to err as those prophets didn't prophesy God's word, but from the wickedness of their own hearts in the name of Baal, who is Satan. God sees these false prophets no better than the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, so only good for righteous judgment by fire and brimstone. But how do we protect ourselves from false prophets, false Christs, and false apostles? The Bible tells us how, 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Because if we do not God says, Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. So we study God's word to show ourselves approved, because if we didn't study His word we would/could be easily deceived by these false prophets, apostles, and Christs. Knowing His word makes us a discerner of the intents of those preaching, Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Moreover, with the knowledge we gain by studying God's word, we are able to judge a prophet by the product of their fruits, Matthew 7:15-17 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. And even in the time of Paul there were false prophets which is why he warned of them. In his letter to the Galatians he said, Galatians 1:6-9 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Paul says he is otherwise astonished at how easily they at Galatia were deceived by false apostles/prophets, so much so that he repeated himself twice saying if anyone or any angel preaches a gospel that does not match the gospel which they received that they will be doomed. So Paul even reaffirms that God's word is the standard by which we know who is and is not a false prophet/apostle. Agree? Disagree? Have anything to add?

So Paul even reaffirms that God's word is the standard by which we know who is and is not a false prophet/apostle. Agree? Disagree? Have anything to add? I agree Some things I wanted to point out For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. Matthew:11:13 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke:16:16 John was our last prophet. What this means is that He was the last because he set the path for Christ and not another prophet was needed since Christ has now come. He didn't live very long and died around Christ's age, give or take some years (or months) because they were just 6 months apart from birth and both murdered in the gospels. So He was a special prophet because based on what he said...he was fully aware that His only mission on Earth was to set His path and that's it. Just like Christ had one big main mission (to die because we needed to be saved) and that's it overall. The prophets before Him were old testament kinds. They still prophesied of the future and some about Christ but John was a special prophet. He was the prophet that did the transition from OT to NT which brought a change. He was the one to set His path straight for the new covenant. Let's see what it says about John... Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Malachi:3:1 So the messenger must be John preparing the way for God who is the "me" there or Christ. And the new covenant is mentioned there that it'll come then when He comes to the temple as the High Priest. Jesus also confirms here that John is a prophet and more than a prophet because he's special to be walking with God and making His paths straight. No other prophet had this opportunity. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. Matthew:11:9 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew:11:11 And John knew it's his duty to prepare the way so he preached about Christ. And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. Mark:1:7 No one was even found worthy to open a book in revelations to read it! Only God could. Christ. Because he's God. Neither are we worthy to stoop down and unloose Christ's shoes. Anyway...back to my prophet stuff. So it said law and prophets were till John. Why? Because John preached Christ who is the High Priest of the new covenant so he was the last prophet because He did the transition and let the High Priest take over forever. This then put an end to the law too, meaning the ordinances and stuff. We no longer need priests or ordinances. Those were just their until new covenant and until the High Priest came. And so we had our last prophet John too. The High Priest was placed forever now. Now that doesn't mean we can't have prophets who prohecy still. These prophets are different. They use Scripture to talk about the future. And if we speak of the future then we're prophecying too. We can say He will come again, the saints and sinners will be separated, every knee will bow, and tons of other stuff bible mentions that's too come. That kind of prophecying is ok because it's true. We are only repeating what God said. If it's anything not in Scripture then God didn't say it and we know God will get angry for people saying things He didn't say...but the prophets of OT were different because they received something directly by God and had to pass it. Todays prophets are just ones who repeat what Scripture says which anyone can do unlike OT prophets who got their info differently. But the prophets we are faced with now are those who are supposed to repeat future events from Scripture. If they don't do that then they're false and will be punished by God. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 2 John:1:10 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John:1:9 We must not receive these false prophets because they don't bring God's doctrine. If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness... 1 Timothy:6:3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John:4:1 So if we hear that what they're saying isn't in the doctrine/Scripture then we turn away. We only follow Christ. We are His sheep only so can't listen to anyone else. There's only one God, one baptism, one doctrine, one truth, one way, one route to life... My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John:10:27 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John:14:6 We already know the truth and where we're headed and that no other doctrine can get us there. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John:14:4 It would be completely foolish to know the real doctrine and accept a fake one in it's place. Yet, satan gets many to do this. The only way to succeed is to keep our eyes and focus on Christ. If we don't sway, He will take us safely to where we must go. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mark:13:13 So yes, there's a lot of things in our way because Satan doesn't want us to find the way. But God laid the path out so if we just walk in it then it will be easy. He even told us about the bullets flying at us that satan might use to lead us astray from our path. God prepared us for the long road ahead. But that's because He wants us there. Agree? Disagree? Anything to add?

Sure, I can start. I agree Though, I would disagree with some of the words you used, like when you capitalized the H's in "He" and "His" when talking about John, or the use of the word "prophecy" instead of "prophesy", and "prophecying" instead of "prophesying", but I knew what you meant Only thing I would like to add for clarification is that when you said we don't need priests anymore, it is because we are now the priests, 1 Peter 2:9-10 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Everything else is good Do you have anything to say in closing? Or should we move onto another subject?

But I believe I wrote that before bed so wasn't fully awake in my defense . And yes we are the priesthood and God is the High Priest from now on. Which is not how the OT covenant works but that covenant is expired so we don't need to care about it anymore. It'll just be a covenant between you and no one else if you follow it still. Which is strange because it takes at least 2 in a covenant and never 1. But some people can have a covenant with nothing apparently . Some people just have a big imagination...just like one who is born one gender and thinks he's another gender. Is there a subject that you have in mind to go to next?

Or do you have another subject in mind?
