Mine is this guy. Why? Because he spends most of his time slaying giants and trolls with a hammer. He's basically the embodiment of the ancient Germanic culture, a heroic warrior who slays monsters in defense of mankind. His Celtic counterpart which differs little from him Taranis could be interchanged with him as my favorite.

Absolutely, it is as you said in your original post. The Bavarians are a Germanic people so its not surprising that Thor shows up there but as you said Thor or rather something like Thor shows up in other Indo European mythologies including the one from your native country. Taranis from Gaulish paganism for instance seems to just be Thor by a different name with his red beard and axe hammer and chariot pulled by bulls as well as his role as a sky and thunder deity and his name like Thor's literally meaning "the thunderer." Indians don't worship this overlord, the vedic sanskrit indra, it was ceased 3500 years back. And In media of hindus, this lord is derided, mocked, and shown as whore monger. They hate him. The accusation of whore mongering is interesting. If true that may show some influence from the Greek Zeus who is also a thunder and sky god though very different from Thor.

I like Zeus and Athena if they count. I actually find the Greek gods interesting, but I think that people have little knowledge of how they were actually portrayed in the myths. The Greeks thought of their gods as having all the flaws human beings but since they were immortal and could not die they were thought not to have to face the consequences of their actions. So the Greek gods basically did whatever it is they wanted morality be damned. Zeus for instance was a huge womanizer and a gleeful rapist. The amount of bastards he sired by raping women is uncountable (he one time raped a woman in the form of an ant). Hera his wife couldn't really take her rage out on her husband for cheating on her so instead she took her rage out on Zues's demigod children since they were mortal as shown when Hera strikes Hercules (called Heracles in Greek, Hercules is the Roman version of the myth and Roman myth was quite distinct from Greek myth) with an insane madness and rage in which Heracles kills his entire family. That's just Zeus and Hera the other Greek gods also did absolutely horrible things to people and committed murder, rape, incest and various other acts a modern person would consider evil. One philosopher wanted the Iliad and Odyssey and other works like it banned because they were morally abhorrent as far as what the gods did. Well, I like Zeus because of lightning. I think his lightning power is cool. And I like Athena because she's just the only female name I like from the female ones

But...I always thought Heracles killed his family because he wanted to from his own free will. And then I thought that he realized he was wrong and wanted forgiveness and had to do some very hard tasks. And I believe if he didn't complete them then he wasn't very sorry and if he completed the almost impossible acts then he was truly sorry for what he did. I had no clue that there was an outside source pushing him towards murder Shrug

If the Indus Valley Civilization wasn't wiped out, the Vedic people and thus Indians themselves would not exist. Its a weird form of nationalism that hates its own people and culture.

Why do they demonize Aryan civilization but at the same time use their sacred texts?

They demonize them, because those aryans had outcasted them, and ruled on them for 2000 years. They were the first groups who colonized and controlled the subcontinent, actually.

No, dravidians are not south indians, they were another group of people, similar to druids, who were early colonizers of indus valley civilizations. even the aryan terminiology is a self designation, it was labelled by mitanni people. In the mitanni-hittite peace treaty, the 5 gods of vedas are invoked, amongst which, indra is the highest lord. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MitanniThe north indians are mostly indo-brachids in today's time. They were even ruled by turkic and mongolians. Also, many europeans such as portugese, and anglo/brits were present in southern regions. the south indians are some west asian people, of an archaic medditereneans. Many kings of scythian ancestry, actually intermixed with these west asian people. There's still some difference in the appearance of north and south people. north indians are light skinned, but they lack sharp features. South indians are mostly swarthy complexion, but are structured genetically better, in terms of appearance. Now, some of the articles on internet are mostly racists by north indians, because, these groups hate each other. dravidian nationalism was purely non sensical, it has no racial basis.

They were the pagan priests of Ireland, Britain, and Gaul. Those people did belong to a an ethnolinguistic family called the Celts.
