[The Callanish Stones in Scotland, constructed in the Neolithic era and used throughout the Bronze Age, the Callanish standing stones are among the most beautiful megalithic formations in the world. From the side, they may seem like a jumble of rocks – but they were actually laid out carefully, with a stone in the center, a circle around it, and rows of rocks radiating outward. Academics theorize that the stones were a site of lunar observation, though local whispers say the rocks were once giants.] fromthegrapevine.com
[The Callanish Stones in Scotland, are older than Stonehenge by about 500 years. Their layout takes into account the position of the sun and moon at different phases as well as their relation to the horizon in different geographic locations.
Researchers from Australia looked at several of the great circles, using 2-D and 3-D technology to run quantitative tests about their alignment. Their research is published in the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports. "This research is finally proof that the ancient Britons connected Earth to the sky with their earliest standing stones, and that this practice continued in the same way for 2000 years."] mnn.com

We connected the earth to the sky long before we learned to erect rock formations.

We connected the earth to the sky long before we learned to erect rock formations. Yes i realize that, but main stream academia and many in professional anthropology/archeology do not take much of the earth sky connection of our bygone peoples into consideration for the most part. This site is an example that shows verifiable proof and archeological evidence that past cultures from many ages ago recognized our earth to sky connection. Also, there is nothing in my article that makes reference to neanderthals. My article states this site was constructed in the Neolithic, which is a period from aprox. 10,000-2,000 bc. in the holocene epoch, a time of the rising of civilization with advancements such as agriculture, architecture, art, etc. Neanderthals existed in the mid to late pleistocene epoch aprox. 430,000-30,000 bc.

I was going to reply to the thread in Archeology but it disappeared yesterday before I could reply. It was in the field "Ethnology-Cultural Realm" under the Archaeology topic. I got an "Oops, something went wrong" when I tried to access it. Sorry to hijack this discussion. This brought me back to a black and white video called "Follow the Wanderer". I had just gotten a copy because I had participated in the 1975 filming of another piece called "Milo Holtz Memory Lane". Apparently, George Shaw had gotten lost and ended up at Milo Holtz's place in Siler City. Milo Holtz played non-stop Grade B Western movies. George must have been very influenced by Milo Holtz because he got a steel guitar player to play with him.

I remembered what the topic was about for the "disappearing post". It was about fossils and the time it take to create them (possibly, a much shorter time than is customarily provided). You may ask what the relationship is between fossils and the above posting. I can't see there is any relationship at all, particularly when Callenish Stones is brought into the discussions. There may be a thread of commonality between Callenish Stones and fossils, but the three subjects of Callenish stones, fossils, and what happened in my youth is like apples, bananas, and baseball gloves - there isn't much to join them in a coherent thread.
The reply I was going to make has to do with Creationists and Creationism. What Creationists believe is that the Bible is the actual Word of God and there is concern that the times provided in the Bible do not match with what the scientific community holds as fact.
Religion is man's desire to seek the truth. The scientific method does not see the truth as relevant to their theories. I will attempt to lay out the fundamentals of the "scientific method" that I learned in college in a Business/Economics course I took.

The scientific method is all about data. In it, they use the data to form theories. The theories only explain the data and are constantly being updated when there is more data taken at the endpoints. What you do at the beginning of the experiment is that any theory works. Often, the "null" theory is proposed, which is that there is nothing on the inputs that will affect the outputs. Data is taken and a new theory that explains the data is provided. A theory is only as good as its ability to predict new data. When new data comes in that contradicts what the theory holds, the theory is updated to reflect the new data. Correlation is key. There is nothing in the scientific method that establishes causation.
This is revolutionary because it states there is no relationship between truth and theories, because the theories are always under refinement.
