Porokhnavets -I think the surname or place in the Carpathian Rus ? all I know is that they have been in Mukachevo / Kolsceny since the 1700s. Its been pretty new to me since I was always told slovakia , but my great grandparents were eastern orthodox. So I could an ancestry helper to pinpoint a location based on a ww1 draft card. My last name is Pornovets , but originally was pornovetz and then Porokhnavets was its original name . The name was changed/ mispelled alot tho. There was a story that went around in my family that my great grandfather changed his name ON PURPOSE illigally . A priest then changed it legally behind his back.

GeseDNA: Anyway you have a similarity with the Chinese on autosomes! But this is typical for many people in East Asia.

GeseDNA: Anyway you have a similarity with the Chinese on autosomes! But this is typical for many people in East Asia. The 'Austronesian' component which dominates in the Filipino genome can in a way be classified as a more archaic subtype of Southern Chinese. On this test they don't have any Austronesian or SE-Asian categories so my percentages went into the next genetically closest available option in this case 'South China'. Though I do probably have a substantial amount of actual either Fujian or Cantonese admixture which is common in the Philippines.

Two of the more interesting ones that I have gotten. These are all based on 23andMe v4 data. Gencove (DNAland was similar but Gencove could better resolve the ambiguous Central Asian) Kurd's K29 calculator on Geneplaza The Asian component is completely contained in the Central Asian Tatar component. There had been an ongoing debate about this assignment on Antro when Kurd posted his update. Prior to the update, my Central/South Asian was in Tajik and North Indian. Based on other tests and an identified genetic relative who is from the Punjab area, I believe the results prior to the update are probably more realistic. Though it is worth mentioning that some Gedmatch calculators do try to assign me some Ukrainian or Georgian.
