Personally I remain open to the simulation hypothesis, mainly because we have no way of proving of disproving it. There are also enough unexplainable things in the universe (including the universe itself) to make me think that perhaps there's something more to existence than we can ever perceive.
The question is, if we are in a simulation, what can we do about it? And is it wise to even try to prove it? For all we know, perhaps once we figure it all out that's the cue for whoever is running the simulation to pull the plug because it's become too dangerous.
