Warnings: 1 Timothy 6:3-5 3 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.2 Timothy 4:3-4 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. Matthew 15:9 9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. Note: I was just informed that tapatalk users do not see the side by side chart. Best to look at the website since it mixes it up for you there. :/

Baptists say that they follow God when they too follow their theologians. You should have more experience of understanding the Christian church and history. For example, the thesis - Tolkio Scripture - is a purely theological term introduced by Luther and nothing more when the Bible says that not only bread will be alive man but every Word from God! I already said before that Timothy's message to which you are quoting is also one of the Fathers of the Church .. these are the majority of apostolic disciples and you simply do not have any arguments to refute it!

The Bible does not stand alone apart from God, but rather that it is the instrument of God by which He reveals Himself. Therefore, relying on scripture alone is the only way to know God and come to faith and trust in Him. Any other principle by which scripture is interpreted violates scripture and the warnings given by God in scripture, especially 1 Timothy 6:3-5 and 2 Timothy 3:16, among many others like Proverbs 30:5-6. We cannot rely on the doctrines and traditions of men, nor the opinions of men for an accurate interpretation of God’s word. Only God is true, we can only rely on Him. If we rely on men for interpretation then we will be lead astray. We must only rely on God.

When he quotes the Scriptures - then read it to the end for the Protestant will only need the quotes he needs to quote, but not the entire text! The Timothy of the epistle to which you quoted was one of the apostolic husbands, that is, he is among the so-called Fathers of the Church. In Bible is mentioned and others. It is these people who have learned from the apostles of Scripture and Tradition. The first message to Timothy, chapter 6 - 20! The word "Tradition" in Greek is παραδόσεις It is this word that stands in the original ..Maybe a Greek guy confirm this! hellenicAs for the verse 1 Timothy 6:3-5, it's just about those who support Luther's thesis. We see it by the fruits! Practice shows that even among those who call themselves Baptists, among them too there are a lot of interpretations and views! The church has one head and body and there should not be any contradictions .. nothing more! An important problem is that you do not even understand the essence of Orthodox Tradition. It's not just some religious books - it's the life inside the Church and it started from Christ himself and in fact began to work even before the books of the New Testament were written by the apostles. Thanks to Tradition, the Church was able to distinguish true gospels against counterfeit ! For example, you have at work a charter how to work .. and you are working on this charter. Work is life! Сharter are just rules! So in religion! The Bible is the charter, traditions are life under this statute. And of course the real tradition can not go beyond the limits of the charter (the Bible)In the Protestants church, I noticed that the pastor said - Scripture allowed God- - God at the behest of Scripture - WHAT ?? Does the book permit God ??? Does God take leave of the book? Does the book have authority over God? The book rules over God??fschmidtI know that you have another faith .. and for Christians, your opinions are not important in this matter, but how do you approach Protestants position The The book rules over God?

Remember forever: Ecumenical councils to protect Christianity against heresies. It was they who compiled the canon of the Bible. God sanctioned this! You do not have strong arguments to disprove this because you are not sufficiently informed + mix it with other material. Indeed, the compilation of the canonical scriptures was by Councils, that is, men or theologians, but there is no evidence that God sanctioned this..... or that God inspired the scripture-writers to write what He wanted to be written. The dogma that the Scriptures are, in effect, God's word, is a human or theological dogma. Even what is quoted in the Scriptures as God's or Jesus' words is actually the thoughts of the writers. Scriptures have various contradictions. Therefore, if God is their author, then God is irrational. For instance, Jesus on the cross cried out, Why hast thou [O God] forsaken me? But, if it is true that Jesus was sent (and willingly came) to atone for the sins of the world, then he would not have complained about his suffering. There are even more devastating contraditions in the Old Testament, such as Abraham's Elohim [Gods, who create Man in their own image: one male and the other female] and Moses' Yahweh (who sculpted Adam).... Rational people cannot accept either Judaism or Christianity as truthful.

fschmidt I know that you have another faith .. and for Christians, your opinions are not important in this matter, but how do you approach Protestants position The The book rules over God? The Protestants are like Karaite Jews and Quranists in only accepting scripture. Quranists are fairly new but Karaites are much older than Protestants, so we can look at what happened to them. Karaite Judaism failed and lost out to Talmudic Judaism. The reason is that scripture by itself is not enough. There are always numerous questions of interpretation and if you allow everyone to have their own interpretation, they will generally choose the worst interpretation. Also, new questions come up that aren't covered in scripture, and again, average people will always choose the worst possible answer. So one needs some clear structure in a religion for interpretation and for handling new questions. In the case of both the Old Testament and the New Testament, the scripture itself points to the solution. In the case of the New Testament, most of it (after the Gospels) is nothing more than the writings of men (like Paul) which was later accepted by the consensus of Christians. This is the current approach of the Orthodox Church, so the Orthodox Church is actually handling things in the manner indicated by the New Testament itself. In the case of the Old Testament, the Torah is the core and after that there is wide variety of sources but mostly history. And this indicates the way an Old Testament religion should work, which is to study history as the basis for interpreting Torah. Unfortunately there is no such religion. In the case of Islam, hadiths are used. This has problems but is still better than nothing. The Quran doesn't seem to point to a solution, but I think the best solution would be for Islam to combine hadith with the study of Islamic history. Those who say that scripture is the only direct source to know God's will are effectively denying that God's will affects reality because if God's will does affect reality then one can study reality itself as a way of learning about God. Historically in the Orthodox Church, the leadership has made some errors but they later corrected them when it was clear that they did not work in practice, so they ultimately respected reality. The Protestants rose quickly at the beginning but they have clearly degenerated over time as human desire has directed the religion instead of some reality-based system. I am sure that Protestantism will die out as Karaite Judaism did.

He said to test them and withdraw from those with a different doctrine who mix bible with other material. 2 Thessalonians 3 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Διαμονδ and fschmidt please look again into the theologian side. The protestants are there as well. Not all protestants follow God. You don't even know if your own spouse will go to heaven Jesus said. The problem is Jesus was upset with Jews because they with their Tumult or whatever it's called and their tradition made God's word of no effect. They added things they shouldn't have and no longer obeyed God but their own writing. Why were there Saducees, Pharisees, and other sects? Because they made their own writings and Jesus rejected them. They are like the denominations today. And Jesus is very unhappy. God only gave the law and nothing else is needed. Revelation 22 18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Lone Wanderer I saw you vote God. Figured you would since you hate the additions as much as I do.
