While cryptozoology is pseudoscience, I think some cryptids could be real. For example, consider Bigfoot. There was a prehistoric giant ape called Gigantopithecus. We had archaic humans like Neanderthals and Denisovans. So bigfoot and other ape-like or humanoid creatures could be real.

But no one has ever seen a sasquatch. And those who claim they did don't have proof. Hmm

Does finding a mammoth in Siberia count? I could see that happening being that the last mammoths recorded were alive on a an island in the Bering sea during the time of ancient Egypt. They died out due to lack of genetic diversity and the ravages of inbreeding but who's to say that there aren't mammoths in the Siberia area. Could be true I hope.

Mammoth and other prehistoric animals do not belong to cryptid category. Because: * cryptid: an animal whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the yeti. * cryptid: any creature that may or may not exist. Sightings of various cryptids have been reported, but their reality has not been proved. The existence of mammoths, prehistoric animals, dinosaurs, and etc has been proved by scientists thanks to undeniable facts and evidences, e.g. fossils.

The first picture reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons when the guy who was in the suit Yeti forgot to take the watch off his hand!
