Yes, I do believe there is a difference between them. This is how I like to differentiate them.
Smart: can just be smart in one particar area like smart in business but not in science Educated: this can be academically or not academically and it means you basically become smart in a particular area more than the rest of the population because of thorough study and learning.
Intelligent: to me this is just wise in decisions and life.
That's how I differentiate them Shrug

I would have liked to read the full article, but I'm not eager to sign up with a credit card to be able to read it!
Any way to share the article without having to give out financial info?

I never actually read it but gave my own definitions. My phone's being slow so was like nah can't wait for the loading. Didn't realize it needed credit card .

It is a good article, but, indeed, it does not get to the topic of "intelligence". Anyway, general intelligence is, as psychologists usually put it, the ability to apply one's knowledge to solve problems, and, I would say, the ability to perceive implications from one's knowledge; high "reading comprehension"; for example, spontaneously using learned axioms or premises to construct demonstrations [proofs] of geometrical theorems; and the ability to develop some simple strategies to cope with problems in daily living, driving, etc. (Developing strategies, taking precautionary measures, etc., may be parts of what is commonly called Smartness or Practical Intelligence.) Then, as I mentioned elsewhere, there is creative or genial intelligence, which is not to be confused with high IQ. It is the intelligence of poets, dramatists, philosophers, scientists, inventors, mathematicians, and artists such as music composers (who are not mere technicians). The two types of intelligence correspond to two types of Brain structure, which give rise to different types of human culture.
To deal with anthropology: What do you think are the earliest human creations which set apart humans from other animals?

would love to access the article ... to me smart and intelligence are interlinked whereas educated refers to the level of academic achievement. There is but not always a link of being educated to being a smarty pants
