www.hngn.com/articles/8688/20130726/why-religions-will-become-extinct-2041-researcher-explains.htmReligion will become extinct by 2041 as the world becomes more developed and wealthier,, proclaims a new study by a noted author and biopsychologist Nigel Barber. Barber makes the claim in his upcoming e-book, Why Atheism Will Replace Religion, which will be available next month. The Irish author says Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and all other types of religious beliefs will be wiped out by atheism. Barber notes there is a direct correlation between religious or atheist beliefs with economic development and level of education. The more educated and wealthier a society is, the less religious they are and vice versa. Barber adds that religion is most popular in underdeveloped countries. As the world continues to become more globalized and personal wealth increases, the less religious the society will be, Barber writes in the Psychology Today. "Belief in God declines in more developed countries and atheism is concentrated in Europe in countries such as Sweden (64% nonbelievers), Denmark (48%), France (44%) and Germany (42%). In contrast, the incidence of atheism in most sub-Saharan countries is below 1%," he writes. Barbers attributes belief in God in poorer, underdeveloped countries as a form of hope for people in a desolate environment. "In my new study of 137 countries , I also found that atheism increases for countries with a well-developed welfare state (as indexed by high taxation rates). Moreover, countries with a more equal distribution of income had more atheists. My study improved on earlier research by taking account of whether a country is mostly Moslem (where atheism is criminalized) or formerly Communist (where religion was suppressed) and accounted for three-quarters of country differences in atheism," he added.

An extremely naive calculation, based on these tables, suggests Christianity will go extinct in ~6.5 million years: f'' = -16/150000 f' = -16/150000*x+.0132 f = -8/150000*x^2+.0132x+2.3e9 Islam in ~3.5 million years: f'' = -3/10000 f' = -3/10000*x+46/2500 f = -3/20000*x^2+46/2500*x+1.8e9 And Hinduism in ~2.9 million years: f'' = -77/300000 f' = -77/300000*x+157/10000 f = -77/600000*x^2+157/10000+1.1e9 Also, just for fun, Bahá'í, in ~147,000 years: f'' = -13/20000 f' = -13/20000*x+17/1000 f = -13/40000*x^2+17/1000*x+7e6 I have no information on the rate of change for Judaism, but using the one for Bahá'í, which probably isn't far off, you get a timeframe of ~208,000 years - unlike all the others listed here, it's already shrinking. Better calculations would use an exponential decay model instead of a quadratic, but they get the point across... Religion's gonna go extinct (one way or another...), but not in 23 years!

Not all religions need to die. Just Judaism and Christianity. In Christianity's case, it will likely happen somewhere between 2042-2142, unless that development is delayed.

There's no doubt atheism and agnosticism would rise. I feel there are many of them still hiding in a religion today scared to confess they're agnostic or atheist because of parents or family or whatever. This is why you shouldn't force and let the person choose what they belive. Otherwise they're just lying to you and pretending to be something they're not. I rather deal with a truthful person who's really on your side rather than not.

Nah. I'll still be Christian then too. But I like the wealthier part and that it should spread to areas which are very poor today that don't even have clean drinking water. I agree. Rejecting one's creator is actually the fringe presupposition.

Matthew 24 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Sorry it's NKJV not KJV)

Psalm 14:1 apology considered, but if that's what you want to roll with who am I to stop you?

Romans 14 KJV 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. See not much different to NKJV (saith is says as the only difference but I like how NKJV capitalizes pronouns that speak of God to show honor/respect) 11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
