Source: Bonobos prefer jerksFor our closest genetic relatives, it pays to have powerful allies Summary: Never trust anyone who is rude to a waiter, advice columnists say. But while humans generally prefer individuals who are nice to others, a Duke University study finds bonobos are more attracted to jerks. The fact that our closest primate relatives prefer bullies suggests that an aversion to creeps is one of the things that makes humans different from other species, and may underlie our unusually cooperative nature. For bonobos, schmoozing with dominant individuals could mean better access to food, mates or other perks, or less chance of being bullied themselves, Krupenye said. The fact that bonobos prefer bullies and humans don't suggests that an aversion to jerks is a fundamental aspect of human behavior that may be unique to our branch of the primate family tree. In humans, the thinking goes, shunning wrongdoers not only helps people avoid bad partners, but also discourages wrongdoers from behaving badly in the first place. The threat of social rejection keeps them in check. Scientists say this bias may be what enables humans to work together in large numbers -- even with complete strangers -- in ways that other species do not. "Humans might have this unique preference for helpers that is really at the heart of why we're so cooperative," said Krupenye, now a postdoctoral fellow at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Lone Wanderer -I see you as always interested in Africa ROFL Always?! Nope, I'm interested in "interesting" stuff. How many of my threads are related to Africa?! When I find them, I just share them on Arktos. That's all. By your logic, If I post something about Orangutans, then you would say: "Oh... my man... You love Southeast Asia very much..."

Closest relative? God forbid if we were related to them. All that hair and black evil eyes. Scary... :(

I’m inclined to believe in some form of evolution, I think creationism is one of the biggest technical flaws of religion and one of the more important reasons I don’t take those individuals seriously. However many of these same scientists claim they can trace our ancestry far enough back to say we come from a fish species that is where my questioning begins.

And if humans are from monkeys then why do we still have monkeys?

The first part of that sentence is definitively an understatement

And if humans are from monkeys then why do we still have monkeys? 1. We are not from monkeys. We share common ancestor with other apes, especially chimpanzees. Other monkeys and primates are very far from us. Chimpanzee–human last common ancestor2. Evolution, the same reason why we had Neanderthals, Denisovans, and other archaic humans.

I don't believe sorry. :/ Humans have only human ancestor even throughout any evolutions. Changing my mind won't work. Give up now xD

And if humans are from monkeys then why do we still have monkeys? The only evolution that is proven - is microevolution!
