Yes, this is true. I have read an article illustrating the Gypsies studying Buddhism in Hungary as part of their ancestral heritage. Buddhism, because of the complexity and rational character of its philosophy, is creditted with developing the intellectual and cultural literacy of the nations which adopted it. Hopefully, Buddhism and the study of the martial arts, can bring about a similar change in the Gypsies for the better, so that they can evolve into a progressive, disciplined and well-educated community. I am well aware of the backward regressive state of the gypsies generally , though there are exceptions. They also suffered from the Nazi genocide in the Holocaust where gypsy children were subjected to brutal experimentation by Nazi scientists. Study of Buddhism by the gypsies is a new phenomenon, due to awareness of the fact of their links to the Indian civilization. Hopefully, new cultural practices and disciplines, can propel them to being a progressive and educated community.

I hope so, but what you see on picture is not the past but the present of great number of gypsies in Southeastern Europe.

Hey you, those gypsies are not the vedic aryans. They are UNTOUCHABLES OR DALITS, and kicked out from here. Please stop trolling now.

True, but change comes gradually, and what comes slowly and gradually is more solid.
The romans, after the invasion of Brittania and Germania, considered the britons and germans to be uncivilized barbarians as well. Cicero described Britons as being too stupid to be good slaves, while Julius Caesar believed they could not be taught music due to their intellectual deficiencies.
But the same germans and britons have now come up in the ladder of civilization, surpassing their former colonisers in Italy.

The Romani (also spelled Romany; /ˈroʊməni/, /ˈrɒ-/), or Roma, are a traditionally itinerant ethnic group, living mostly in Europe and the Americas and originating from the northern Indian subcontinent,[55][56][57] from the Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Sindh regions of modern-day India and Pakistan.[56][57] A recent DNA study conducted by Indian and Estonian research facilities shows that the Roman/Romani/Gypsy and Sinti people originate from the Untouchable Dalit community from India.[

How can you discount human beings as useless or rejects ! I have seen many gypsies themselves who are more aesthetic, fairer and good looking than yourselves, in case you despise them for racial looks.

There are gypsies that integrate well, but their biggest problem is their nomadic lifestyle.

About a year ago I threw one gypsy thief out off bus. He tried to steal in front of my eyes But in any case I wouldn't say gypsies are biggest thiefs around here.

It could be that their talents in other productive areas are not recognized and nurtured, due to lack of good leadership and mentors, and also the factor of discrimination. Johann Trollmann was a German Romani boxer who fought in 1933 for the German light-heavyweight title and although he was the clear winner, the fight was judged a draw by biased judges. In 1939, he fought for his adopted country Germany in the second world war. When he returned back wounded, the Gestapo arrested him as he was no longer useful physically for the war, and put him in a concentration camp, where he was murdered in 1943. In 2003, the German boxing federation officially recognized Johann Trollman as the 1933 German light-heavyweight champion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Trollmann The gypsies also have a innate talent for entertainment and the arts. Charlie Chaplin, the greatest movie star and comedian of the previous century is believed to have been born to a romani gypsy family. news.liverpool.ac.uk/2012/11/09/charlie-chaplins-son-delves-into-fathers-gypsy-past/ The gypsy culture has been romanticised in many films, literature and art all over the world. The critically acclaimmed film Chocolat has Johnny Depp playing the role of a wandering gypsy musician. Here is a list of famous gypsies/romanis.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Romani_people
