Easter and Christmas are the best. I don't care much for santa clause and the easter bunny, but I do think the birth of Christ and the resurrection are a big deal and should be celebrated on these days.

New Testament/Christianity doesn't mention any holidays to follow but we set some important dates from the New Testament to remember and be glad for. 1. We set a random time to celebrate Christ's coming to Earth. It's not really His birth because Christ was alive before that day. It's a day of His first visit to Earth as a baby human. 2. New Testament mentions Harvest a lot. So we celebrate that. That God gives us all we need in terms of food. 3. New Testament also always tells us to be thankful always. So we have Thanksgiving holiday. It is like Harvest but includes everything to be thankful for and not just food. 4. Then lastly the New Testament mentions Christ returning back to Heaven where He came from originally after He completed His mission on the cross. We call this holiday Easter. It basically means God won and retuned home back to His Spirit form to His real parent (God the Father, which is another part of Christ/God).

Why do they have to be christian holidays, they're mostly directly lifted from past events.
Horus, Mithra and scores of other deities share the same details?
Christianity is just the newest.

Which Christian Holidays (the days that Christians celebrate) do you like the most and why? the major ones: Christmas and Easter, both of which replaced two pagan holydays: the Persian Mithra was celebrated on or about the winter solstice, our December 25th, when the sun gets stronger and daytime lasts longer, which was the ancient beginning of a new year. In the Roman world, the spring/summer equinox was the time after which the Day was observably longer than the night. So, in temeter;e Julian calendar, the new year started in March (ca. 21st). However, to resolve other issues, two months were added to the 10-month year, and so, till this day, the new year begins on January 1st. In the Christian (Orthodox/Catholic) Church, the Spring equinox was made to coincide with the resurrection of Christ (Easter),but since a year is not a perfect "365 period of time, the Gregorian calendar put Easter on a variable date. In ancient times, there was no specific date for the return of Spring or the birth of Demeter's Kore (the maiden). Kore was replaced by Adonis in the Middle East, and by Jesus' resurrection in Greece and Rome.
