God is God. He can't be an idol. That's just ridiculous. Idol means something other than God taking the place of God. This will forever disqualify God as an idol.

I think you're talking about Catholics and such. I don't consider them Christian and yeah they have carved images which is what disqualifies them biblically. But what idol am I worshipping since you say that I am worshipping one?

God is the highest of highs, and even low key the lowest of lows, for example he is Full Circle and at the peak of every direction, the most merciful and most merciless, therefor can cannot be idolized, a more accurate description is He cannot be fathomed, we can only meditate on His law in hopes of obtaining His true, and always higher meaning. If you are a great reader, you will see greatness in every word in Jesus's breath. I have read a ridiculous amount of supposed 'Great philosophy' and science magazines, you just can never come close to Jesus, even in today's high paced, library packed, super webbed and well knit world with unlimited knowledges to read. It's the different of 11 commandments and ten. Ten was the perfect number, God calculates all things

Aren't idols materialized? I can't idolize a human being. Or, at least, there must be two meanings of that.
Later meaning is that I idolize Jesus as a person. Yes, indeed. So, what? No big deal. In our childhood we usually idolized our parents. At school our teachers. - That's why "Idol" in later meaning is the same as "Ideal".
So, yes. Jesus is ideal.

Why ask me?
You tell me since I am not a mind reader.
What do you idolize and worship? The Yahweh/Jesus represented by your cross. Right?
You put Jesus above Yahweh. Right?

As to his highest position of good, are you willing to debate the moral value in his substitutional punishment policy and his no divorce policy?
Those are the two most immoral tenets he has, other than his genocidal and infanticidal nature of course.
I doubt it but had to ask.

I ask our friend to debate on morals just above.
I don't know if he will but almost all Christians run from such talks.
What kind of Christian are you? A run and hide type or an apologist?

Most people who consider themselves Christian certainly merely worship Him as if he were an idol. But that does not mean Jesus IS an idol, so your wording is perhaps clumsy, or perhaps you are equating him as actually being an idol for these reasons? You need to qualify what you are saying more accurately. But those who idolize Christ are the least of such idolatry problems. The thing is most people idolize both false and true scientific method too. So this shows that the error is in the laziness of the minds of people. Powerful technology in the hands of those who worship false methods is far more dangerous than unthinking people who misconstrue and idolize truth. (Regardless of whether the truth is scientific or Theistic). But you make these very same errors when you take the title 'greatestiam'. You are certainly claiming yourself greatest! How much worse is it to idolize your very self above The Creator? Then to top it all you use the image of a serpent? Your position is just as twisted as those you rant against.

I do not idolize anything. Jesus is Yahweh and He is God. God is not an idol. An idol is anything but God it is written by God. I only pray and worship Him who is only in heaven and not some stupid earthly object. If you haven't learned this in my posts after all this time then not sure what to tell you.

First of all, New Testament's moral is an absurd. Especially it concerns Western versions of Christianity. (I'd even wide this thesis to All the Western moral is a big crap. Or similar versions.) There's no good way to search for your steps in life through gospels. And even the story it told - is nothing, but a big metaphor for us. God never speaks truly straight. Is it possible to imagine His speech directly? Who says it should be come "directly"? Is God a triangle or a square? I don't think that if there's a God He must look like a little cube, and speaking like a Sherlock dummy Holmes. No. All that it is is that Western's imagination runs quicklier than its sanity. The logic it uses completely plain and slope. It ties a noose itself round its necks. I don't think it might be relevant talk about any Western understaning of gospels. So, no place and rest for Western gospels. What may be useful there - I mean in gospels and numbered books like "An Egyptian Book of Dead", "Tibetan Bardo Todol" or "Necronomicon" (even being truly mystified by Lovecraft) - is something that lays underneath the real things. We must observe not on that soft surface, but deeply in.

"(Regardless of whether the truth is scientific or Theistic)."
There is no theistic truth.
I hope you can see how intelligent the ancients were as compared to the mental trash that modern preachers and theists are using with the literal reading of myths. bigthink.com/videos/what-is-god-2-2
Further. www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03132009/watch.html
Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary.
Now, go and study it." Please listen as to what is said about the literal reading of myths.
"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."
Matt 7;12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
This is how early Gnostic Christians view the transition from reading myths properly to destructive literal reading and idol worship.
