Judge Your MotiveTo discern the right thing to do, a man must first judge his motive. The rightness of an act, accounts for motive. Did you give, because it was good, or to make yourself look good? Did you obey your parents, because it was right, or to obtain the gift of long life? Did you share your success to gloat, or to show others that they could be successful too? God asks to take care of the widow. Is it for the benefit of humanity, or to have us obey him, strokes his ego? Do we pray for our enemies, because Christ says so, or because doing so, creates in us the capacity to love them? Remember, the Lord judges our hearts intentions, and no good deed, done with the right motive, goes to waste.
