Measles is a hot topic right now with an outbreak going on in Washington state. People blame anti-vaxxers for the outbreak by not getting their children or themselves vaccinated, which does have some truth to it. But, did anyone ever bother to ask the anti-vaxxers why they don't want their kids or themselves to be vaccinated? Some may say it is because vaccines cause autism, which may or may not be true, but one thing that is sure is that vaccines have caused deaths and since we are talking particularly about measles we may as well just stick with the MMR vaccine.
Let's take a look at the facts:
As of March 31, 2018(since 1990), there have been more than 89,355 reports of measles vaccine reactions, hospitalizations, injuries and deaths following measles vaccinations made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), including 445 related deaths, 6,196 hospitalizations, and 1,657 related disabilities. Over 60% of those adverse events occurred in children three years old and under.
Adverse events following MMR vaccination reported to VAERS include:
Lupus (autoimmune connective tissue disorder);
Guillain-Barre syndrome (inflammation of the nerves);
Encephalitis;
aseptic meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain);
deafness;
cardiomyopathy (weakening of the heart muscle);
hypotonic-hyporesponsive episodes (collapse/shock);
convulsions;
subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE);
ataxia (loss of ability to coordinate muscle movements);
parathesia (numbness, burning, prickling, itching, tingling skins sensation indicating nerve irritation)
Transverse Myelitis
Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)

Nevermind all these adverse events, how about the deaths caused by the MMR vaccine which is 445 as of March 18, 2018(since 1990).
How many people have died from measles since March 18, 2018? ZERO.
Hmm, let's take it back another year, to 2017.. how many have died? ZERO.
How about back another year? 2016? ZERO.
Yea, we have to go back to 2015 for the last measles death in the US, and there was only ONE. Before that? TWO in 2012, and before that, TWO in 2010, then TWO in 2009, then jump to 2005 and we have just ONE.
So the MMR vaccine has killed more people than measles has in 15 years.
vaxopedia.org/…/when-was-the-last-measles-death-in…/I am not able to find an accurate count of how many deaths from measles there has been since 1990, but I did find this information:
academic.oup.com/…/art…/189/Supplement_1/S69/2082538"During 1987–1992, there were 165 measles-associated deaths in the multiple-cause mortality database at the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)..."
"During 1993–1999, only 1 acute measles-related death was reported to the NCHS and no deaths were reported to the NIP."
Since we don't have the exact numbers, let's just divide the measles deaths by the years 1987-1992, so that's 165 divided by 6 years which is 27.5. So let's just say there were 27.5 deaths in 1990, 1991, and 1992.. that gives us 82.5 deaths and we'll round it up to 83 to make it a whole number.
So, 83 deaths, plus one death from 1993 to 1999, gives us 84 deaths from measles in that time frame. Add that up with the data presented earlier, 84 plus the 11 from 2000 to 2017, that gives us 95. So since 1990, approximately 95 people have died from measles, and about 445 have died from MMR vaccinations....
So, what does the Arktos community think about this? Is the MMR vaccine really safe? Or does it do more harm than good?
