How does Catholicism reach such a high degree of certainty up to the interval of time in purgatory? How does Catholicism reach certainty about the existence of purgatory itself? I once asked a Catholic if purgatory might not exist and they were very confused. What about the Seven Deadly Sins? How are these so apodictically established by the church?

Personally, they seem very certain about things but still haven't given me a verse in the bible with the word purgatory in it and some claimed they knew the names of saints going to heaven who are written in the book of life so I asked for a copy of that book and they didn't want to provide me with one. So....I guess they're keeping all the proof locked up in a safe for their eyes only. Oddly enough though, they were certain of their proof but were uncertain of their sex. This was a group of Catholics I spoke to too.... Shrug
