That's silly. They are not breaking rules.
Here's the law.
"Under federal anti-discrimination laws, businesses can refuse service to any person for any reason, unless the business is discriminating against a protected class. At the national level, protected classes include: Race or color. National origin or citizenship status"
Same sex isn't race or color or even national origin or citizenship status. So they can take a hike now. Same sex can be refused.

Legally, I think businesses should be able to refuse service to whoever they please on whichever basis they please whatsoever. Their business is their property and they should be allowed to do what they want with it.
