I remember a 100 degree day in Los Angeles in the 90s.
I saw 100 degrees, or around there, in the news forecast this last summer and felt it for about a week....
Riverside gets hotter than downtown LA in the summer but I wasn't there this year.
I remember that for a week in about February the temperatures were lower than December and January.
All in all I am not convinced that the earth is any hotter than before.
What about you?

Honestly, sometimes it seems warming but other times not. But our planet always went through climate changes so it doesn't worry me either way. Shrug

Shrug There's evidence that the earth was warmer during the medieval ages, I posted a website that has tons of links to these evidences... but people are just going to believe whatever/whoever they want shrug besides, this global warming/climate change is an argument over something that cannot be noticed very much, if at all, over a lifetime. Until I actually see the sun scorch the earth, I'm not going to believe we have an issue.

Just because they claim it is a scientific report does not mean it is really science. Exactly, but if the scientific report is peer reviewed by other scientists, it becomes more reputable. The vast majority of anti anthropogenic climate change articles aren't peer reviewed and often are published through untrustworthy news websites, etc. Where is the report and who agreed with it?

There are many peer reviewed reports supporting climate change. I am part of a university which means I have free access to them, but I understand most digital libraries for scientific reports require subscriptions. These reports aren't the only trustworthy sources though. There are many websites like NASA that provide very informative information and data on the topic. The key is to generally stick to scientific sources that have reputability.

I believe it when i see it It will be too late then. There are a heap of charts and graphs up from climate observation centres, if you'd like to have a look at them. They provide a good visual.

Can you tell me what you remember from it, Outlier? Of course. Basically the reports are saying that global temperatures have been rising since the Industrial Revolution, and around the 80s' temperatures began to rise even faster. The temperatures are continuing to rise at a considerably rapid pace, and show no signs of slowing down. The difference between climate change now and that of the ice age is that this warming is happening in such a shorter amount of time. The change back in the ice age took thousands of years. The thousands of years allowed animals and plants to adapt, but this sudden change is too swift and thus why so many species (especially the fragile ones or ones which live in cold climates) are becoming extinct or on the verge of becoming extinct. This anthropogenic climate change is not one that we can just sit back and watch - it will have considerable consequences on all our lives. The warming seas mean that ocean acidification occurs, which results in crustaceans and animal species with shells to suffer and die out in their masses. The warming seas also melt significant amounts of sea ice, which is frozen freshwater - thus making the sea water less salty, and putting thousands of animals and plants who live in these waters at great risk. Not to mention the melting ice rises sea levels, and will eventually flood many islands and countries. We have to remember how fragile our planet is, and with the slightest mistake all can go wrong. We rely on other animals and plants to live in a safe and habitable planet, and with their numbers dropping from climate change, our future could be quite horrific. Hence why we need to act now, before even more life is gone.

Here: These graphs aren't from any one specific report, but are still accurate and from credible sources. Hope you find them helpful.

So, according to the reports, the temperature difference for over a century was a difference of 2 degrees (if that)?
You claim the report is "accurate". How did you test that, Outlier?
Define "credible", please.

Define "credible", please. I encourage you and others to read through the page I have linked below. Credible is something that has been tested and reviewed by other professionals, with no bias, and who's information has been deemed accurate through thorough testing and comparison with other similar reports and studies. climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ link

If they did not use a thermometer, then I doubt it has been "tested".
I can feel the difference between 80 degrees and 100.

If they did not use a thermometer, then I doubt it has been "tested". I can feel the difference between 80 degrees and 100. You are talking of day to day temperature. Climate change is a result of global temperature increasing. I very much doubt NASA, amongst other climate observation centres, would have faulty equipment. I encourage you, and others, to continue researching the topic (although beware of bias and unsupported information) and maybe even come up with your own ways to try and help the issue - after all, we're all going to have to work together on this, being a worldwide problem. Let's just hope us humans put a solution into place before we've done too much more unreversible damage.
