Since kids learn languages faster should schools start teaching them languages at a young age?
Schools in California taught it at high school only when I went to school. High school is too old to teach and didn't help me. Now some middle schools are starting to do it here. In Ukraine my cousin was being taught English and she was 12. (Not sure if they teach it before 12 too since when I saw her homework it was English and she was 12 at the time).
But I mean maybe teach them right away? Have schools teach them more languages as soon as they enter school? Or no?
I've some YouTube stuff to post if I find them.

This Russian girl is 4 years old. They had her read and speak in 7 languages and if she passed she got a prize (a doll). Russian, English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and the other two were Arabic and Dutch I think. The show is called Amazing People. But this is the best age to learn I think Shrug

Pretty cool. I believe that the more information-taking subjects should be taught earlier than usual.

When you are a child your memory is at optimum levels. If I remember well, there was a study that proved that children from bilingual families have better memory, but the side effect exist as well - they reached fluency in speech later on in their lives than children from monolingual families.

Here in Belgium, kids learn French at about the same age as they learn Dutch, I think it's a good thing, but you shouldn't exaggerate, 2 is enough for little kids in my opinion.

A cousin of mine in Italy, who is about 3 years old, can converse in Italian, English, French, and German -- the languages her mother teaches in school. I only wish that somebody should make an analysis of the extent to which children speak languages. (Speaking a language involves expressing sentences which have been heard and learned, AND creating new sentences or exclamations in new situations or circumstances. One day, when her mother kept on talking on the phone, the little girl got bored and remarked, "Parole, parole!" ["Word, words!"] Of course, she makes up her own mind as to what she should wear and when she should be taken out for "coffee" (ice cream, in her case).
