I want to know just so that when I come across another flat-earther, I can say "WELL THE BIBLE SAYS ITS A GLOBE, THEREFORE IT MUST BE TRUE" and win automatically.

The word in Hebrew for ball, which is "dūr"(דּוּר), also means "circle" and "encircling". With that said, I'd like to point out that all of the planets and their moons, the sun, and the earth's moon, are roughly spheres or balls(if you will) but look like circles no matter which direction you look at them from. Why would the earth be any different? I see that when you need to make an argument in your favor you take words from Hebrew(original Scripture) to show the original meaning...but when other people bring the original into the argument and carefully explain the whole situation...then you call it a cult.

This whole thing doesn't make sense..The Scriptures are given to people as a spiritual book with a single meaning.Having no idea of the meaning of Scripture the people fight... that absolutely need not! Shrug

Keep making things up about me like you continue to do on this forum. False accusations are your speciality.

For the sake of information for this thread, Hebrew cosmology/astronomy comes straight from the Talmud and Jewish mysticism. It is NOT biblical. The flat earth theory originated from the mythology of ancient middle eastern pagan religions from Mesopotamia and Egypt, which is where Jewish mysticism gets most of its beliefs and practices. These beliefs and practices are NOT transposable with the Bible.

I call everything round a circle when describing Shrug
A ball is a circle. A polka dot is a circle. A black hole is a circle. A circle can be 2D or 3D.

For the record. When God says He sits upon the circle of the Earth. What else could it mean but this?

The shape of a sphere is a circle in my book. If your definition says otherwise then it's fine. Some people just can’t fathom that a sphere is in the shape of a circle
Yeah, some people can't fathom that no-one ever refers to a ball as a circle. Must be some new trend or something ...

Gravity holds everything together like on pillars. No it doesn't. Something fixed on top of pillars cannot move. You're embarrassing yourself. Adjective and noun don't need to be next to each other in a sentence and can be separated. The circle of the earth is adjective of circle and noun of earth. There is no adjectival usage of the word "circle". What are you having difficulty with exactly? West corner of earth is where I live. this is crazy It certainly is crazy. Where is this west corner of the Earth? I'm intrigued. There is nothing west of you? Oops!

This Bible says globe... It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as locusts: he that stretcheth out the heavens as nothing, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.
A globe is a sphere.

Erm, I don't know on what this is about, but if you wanted to use "circle" as an adjective, you would have to change it into "circular".

I want to ask you something serious. Is the horizon flat or round? And can the horizon be both flat or round? If the horizon can be both flat or round then it is a save bet to assume that the earth is both flat and round.
