The mechanics are still a little weird to me, like the way you’re supposed to ask questions. In my opinion, it helps me that I know Spanish since a lot of words are similar. Also, a lot of words sound nothing like what they’re spelled like

I have a little bit of knowledge regarding the French language because I had French classes in school literally from Kindergarten to High School. I never cared enough to be fluent but now that I'm older I have a desire to complete my training and completely learn the language.

So you can talk to people in Quebec without them wanting to kill you. People in Quebec do not know English? Oh, they know English but they HATE when you use it in their country. In Canada the whole French vs English language problem is as big a thing as race is in the United States. Quebecois are obsessed with preserving their identity and see the French language as the core of that identity. Thus they have language laws in Canada where bilingualism is forced upon Anglo Canada and they have language police forcing Canadian businesses to use both French and English in any conceivable way that language could be used, but Quebec is allowed to use French only. This is just another example of why people of different cultures shouldn't be under one government.

As we have in Ukraine...we have a whole region where they speak Hungarian..it is a difficult language and it is more difficult for them to switch to Ukrainian. Shrug

Hungarian isn't even an slavic language. That's just sad a whole region speaks it.
