So since we have a bunch of different people from different countries I think it'd be awesome to make a post for people to share folklore from their country. I'll start; I live in the United States of America and we don't have any mythology except the superheroes and Native American mythology but in South Carolina we have a folklore monster that's unique to us. The Gullah people (black Caribbean-ish people in the South Carolina Lowcountry with their own language and culture) have a legend about a creature called the Boo Hag. scaresandhauntsofcharleston.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/the-boo-hags-of-gullah-culture/Its a monster that doesn't have skin so it wears the skin of others to hide among humans. Its like a vampire but it sits on peoples chest and sucks out their breath until they're dead and then they take their skin. The Gullah believed that a person has a soul and a spirit and that your soul passes on to the afterlife when you die but your spirit stays behind to watch over the family. However a bad "evil" spirit becomes a Boo Hag.

In Germany, one of the most iconic folklore beings in literature is the demon Mephistopheles. His etymology stems from Hebrew mephitz (destroyer) and tophel (liar). In the very beginning during Medieval Germany, he was said to collect the souls of "those already damned". His real popularity later came through the works of Goethe, who described him as an elegant servant of Satan who struck deals with magicians in exchange for their souls, making him a very common figure in popular media even today.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KurganThe monuments of these cultures coincide with Scythian-Saka-Siberian monuments. Scythian-Saka-Siberian monuments have common features, and sometimes common genetic roots.[5] Also associated with these spectacular burial mounds are the Pazyryk, an ancient people who lived in the Altai Mountains lying in Siberian Russia on the Ukok Plateau, near the borders with China, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.[6] The archaeological site on the Ukok Plateau associated with the Pazyryk culture is included in the Golden Mountains of Altai UNESCO World Heritage Site.[7] Scythian-Saka-Siberian classification includes monuments from the 8th to the 3rd century BC. This period is called the Early or Ancient Nomads epoch. "Hunnic" monuments date from the 3rd century BC to the 6th century AD, and other Turkic ones from the 6th century AD to the 13th century AD, leading up to the Mongolian epoch.

I was kind of talking about stuff from folklore or mythology like mythical monsters, gods, and other supernatural stuff. Folktales and such. You should have a leg up here though as India has a lot of interesting folklore and mythology.

The next folkloric creature I will highlight is another creature from the state of South Carolina, probably the most famous locally. It is the Grey Man of Pawleys Island. The Grey Man is a ghost in Pawleys island South Carolina who warns people when a storm is coming. www.theparanormalguide.com/blog/the-gray-man-of-pawleys-island This ghost either appears as a shadowy creature or as a man wearing a grey raincoat and hat. This creature is interesting as I know people who've actually claimed to have seen the Grey Man. Those people are my very own parents. They were on a beach near Pawley's Island arguing when all of the sudden my mother looks over at this dude that was standing looking at the ocean. The man looked like a silhouette of a man that you could make out that he was wearing a raincoat and hat. This man seemed odd so my father approached and the thing just starts moving away from him not walking but kind of gliding. My father being the fearless southern redneck that he is chased after it running at full speed. The thing moved no faster than it did before my father started chasing it but my father could not catch it no matter how fast he ran. The night was a very foggy night and conditions may have been right for a storm that day though it never came. My parents, my father especially is not prone to lying at all. I was about five years old and was left with my grandparents so I wasn't there to see the occasion. The picture below is an artists rendering of the Gray Man and my parents swear that's what they saw.

Well, Brazil is also full of such myths and evil/weird creatures, mostly coming from Native American mythology but some being a mixture of European, Native American and African myths. This is one from where I live (south of the country), an urban legend from my city: the blonde ghost. People say that in a rainy night a taxi driver stopped when he saw a blond girl signalling at him, asking for a ride. She got into the car and told him the address to which he should go. A few minutes after they got to the place. However, the driver was surprised when he noticed that he was in front of a cemetery! He looked at the blonde and asked her if that was the right address. She confirmed and got off, saying that it was where she lived. She thanked him and moved towards the cemetery, disappearing among the tombstones...

I've heard different variations of similar story in different places. Does your story require only a taxi or can it be any driver? And if so have you heard from anyone personally who claimed to see her?

And if so have you heard from anyone personally who claimed to see her? Yes, I'm pretty sure that this sort of story is pretty common in urban centres all over the world. This one here is pretty much associated to taxi drivers only. This is because, according to what some old people say, the blonde is the ghost of a girl who was murdered 'years ago' by a maniac who happened to be a taxi driver. So the ghost would only appear to taxi drivers, to scare them as some sort of 'revenge'. I don't know anyone personally, it's just the things I read and heard about. A few years ago they brought the story to a tv show here called 'Urban Legends'. And there's also a short film about it made in 1991.

From all famous german folklore figures, there is one who stands out for his lack of magic or supernaturality as well as for his "young age", but who does balance it out with absurdity and charm, Baron Münchhausen. This character is based on Hieronymus Carl Friedrich Freiherr von Münchhausen. Also known as the "lying baron" (Lügenbaron) he told obviously fake stories about himself and passed them on to other people, one of the most famous ones being the "ride on the canonball", where he rides on a canonball to overfly a fortress and then even springs onto another canonball mid-flight. His stories, although complete lies, are charming, witty, comedical and have rightfully deserved their place in Germany's folklore.

easy: in the midnight stay in the middle (center?) on crossroad out of town and soon some person come to you and ask what you want. Say them you want (wish?) and it become to reality soon. earlier sometimes we met different people on such places and asked them what do they wanted. And only once answer was "I'm lost my way, take me town, please".
