Galatians 2:1-17 KJV
[1] Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.
[2] And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
[3] But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
[4] And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
[5] To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
[6] But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:
[7] But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
[8] (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles) [9] And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. [10] Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.
[11] But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
[12] For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
[13] And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
[14] But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
[15] We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,
[16] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
[17] But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
In this chapter, Paul goes to Jerusalem with Barnabas and Titus after spending 14 years in Syria and Cilicia preaching the gospel of Christ. He preached privately to people who had reputation among the other people there and in doing so Paul found out Peter had been preaching the gospel of circumcision, that is the traditions of the Pharisees. James and Peter seemed to be right with God, but they were not.
Peter showed up in Antioch and Paul confronted him face to face there to tell him he was wrong. Before Peter came with other Jews, James, who was eating with the gentiles, left so he wouldn’t been seen eating with them, because he was afraid of the Jews and other Jews who were with James left also, as well as Barnabas, being hypocrites(if you believe in the gospel of Christ, why would you fear those who keep the traditions of the Jews which consider all others heathen?). Paul says to Peter in front of everyone(I paraphrase) “if you being a Jew live after the manner of the gentiles, and not like the Jews, why do you force the gentiles to live like the Jews?”
This is hypocrisy, the same hypocrisy of the Pharisees. Peter was preaching a false gospel, the gospel of circumcision, the gospel of the Pharisees.
This is the first schism in the Bible, the schism between the apostles.
Let’s point some things out here; Peter is recognized as the founder of the Church of Antioch and the Roman Church which were two of five churches established before the schism between the orthodox and catholic churches. Eastern Orthodoxy recognizes themselves as directly succeeding from the Church of Antioch and of course the Church of Rome is now known as the Roman Catholic Church; both churches recognize Peter as their founder and first pope/patriarch.
Peter established churches after the tradition of the Pharisees, hence why the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church concentrate so much on tradition, in fact they don’t teach the Bible at all.
This is what the orthodox churches teach specifically,
And what the catholic churches teach(CCC, not from the Bible),
They both teach church traditions and practices only.
The orthodox and catholic churches are not churches after Christ, but after Peter.
Interesting coincidences(or maybe not):
- This is the same Peter that denied Christ 3 times, Simon Peter.
- This same Peter was crucified upside down; the upside down cross is know as a symbol of defiance to Christianity/anti-Christian, and is also associated with satanism.

Why would Christ ask him if he loved Him 3 times? Jesus knows who loves Him, but He asked Peter 3 times anyway. This must mean Peter didn’t actually love Christ, and that he wasn’t actually following Him.

Peter was given test after test, given command after command, but seemed to always waiver, and in the end he ended up falling away and doing exactly what Christ said he would do, that is he would be carried away by someone else; “but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.”
