names.mongabay.com/most_common_surnames.htm Notice all of those English names in the upper and even lower tiers. This confirms a suspicion of mine that most Americans are either English or part English American and are just identifying themselves in the census with the more exotic part of their ancestry. Americans by and large are still ethnically by blood, culture, language, religion, history, you name it an Anglo Saxon people if if they're mixed to some or a great degree with other groups of people just like the Afrikaners are essentially a Dutch type of people even if they're mixed with other groups.

Aww says love is a common surname. How cute. But I have seen maybe 80% of those last names since living in California.

Hispanics outnumber them at 17 percent. Second most if not all blacks in the United States have a large percentage of English or otherwise British an ancestry themselves.
