As far as I knew from the past the female took the guy's last name when she married. But nowadays in some countries it's weird and they changed it. Some woman keep their last names and don't change it. I only agree to taking his name and I'm glad my church requires this. What do you think on this?

Well Changing last name seems suitable in some situations but it should be depended on female whether she wants to change her name or not.

Men of lower social status "marrying up" were expected to take their wife's surname in some countries if there were no male relatives. While throughout history if a surname was rare instead of dirt common, the family had a long/rich/impressive history, or it was a familial alliance of note surnames were hyphenated to a) preserve the surname, b) show respect, c) let everyone know who are allies. Finally, in some countries including European ones, the idea of a woman taking a man's surname has never existed or been strictly enforced.

It's not an obligation here, it is totally woman's choice, but mostly they do it on their own will.

How come there are no rules regarding marriage then to those who say it doesn't matter?

I'd be like take it or leave it! ... nah, uhm, sometimes I think it would be cool simply to add the last name of each other to both names, and pick the best one for your kids

In the Old Testament we see what I think are first names and no last names.
Your name.
