This is mostly for Americans but applies to other people as well. What part of your ancestry, what ethnic group, nationality, or any other people who are a part of your ancestry do you identify with most? If you come from the old word you are still probably a mix of tribes so this applies to you too.
Me personally, I'm a fourth German and Swiss on my fathers side plus the German ancestors on my mothers side making by my counting the Germans having the highest proportion of my ancestry. That plus the fact that I am closest to the German side of my family and know them far better than everyone else means I identify most with my German ancestry though I don't discount any part of my lineage.

I identify with my English ancestry the most. I have a mix of other Western European heritage but English just clicks with me more. Do you speak other languages too? I wish I did! I took years of German in high school and college but I forgot EVERYTHING and never knew it that well in all actuality.

I also respect them, but they are different from us. I'm not a native Englishmen, so, I'm not going to go primarily go on my English ancestry/heritage. I'm not really talking about ethnic identity in which most Americans who aren't southern would have a hard time crafting. I'm just talking about which part of your ancestry you are most fond of. I think with us and our peers, we would most identify with our English ancestry, if those said peers could even locate the England or the UK on a map.

I'm a bunch of things I guess but my dad and I feel more connected to the Russian area mostly. Sometimes we have felt out of place where we live, so maybe that has made the feeling of closeness stronger. Apparently he only really connected with a Ukrainian family growing up and that he felt like he didn't fit the classic NW European American stereotype lool:

I don't think most of them couldn't locate people on a map, let alone what to think of them, .

Speaking shortly, and without going into too much details, a Vlach basically means something like a Slav. A group of people that is further divided into various nations/ethnicities. The main difference is that Slavs are basically a linguistic group, while Vlachs speak Romance languages. The thing with Romance languages is that obviously Romanians and Portuguese don't have much in common except the languages they speak. So as far as Slavs are Slavs due to the languages and genetics to some point, which makes them Slavic people, there are no "Romance people". So the Vlachs are mostly Romanians and their cousins from the region. But I am not sure if that term is widely used nowadays.

I am yet to get my DNA testing, but my father told me, when I was a kid, that we are brahmans/overlords and were landlords and administrator, though, now this, caste thing is no longer relevant to me, because, this aryan culture is extinct in subcontinent. But, I am from the maharashtra/telengana/north karnataka regions, and is associated with this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deshastha_BrahminMy ancestors were referred to as tall people, by the local people of these regions, once they settled here.

I sent my saliva in to ancestry dna once and the results came back as 79% hardcore street gangster, 3% real hood , 7.5% trap star. They also sent me an embossed glock made out of potassium and mercury.
It's been my sole duty to represent these inherent genetic qualities on my block as I quest for a local reputation.

I proudly identify as Jamaican, although that's not exactly a race. But in reality I'm half Irish and Jamaican.
